I've just won tickets to a MUSE gig down in london... but again my luck kicks in. I've got my school prom on the same day, which i've already payed for the suit hire etc so i really cannot cancel. It's a very intimate gig with only 256 people winning tickets, i'd have probably been able to meet matt and the crew or at least be very close to them. But yea i can't go... Just my bloody luck.
I would... BUT, the ticket has mine and my mates names printed on it and you need photo ID on the door to get in, passport/drivers liscence etc. They're non transferrable basicallySic said:What are the dates for those shows? i know someone who'd probably chew his arm off to go and see Muse, if you'd be willing in letting them go. you probably know tonnes of people who'd go...but, just putting it out there![]()

I feel I must add this video to the threadhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFKzrf2buZo
The Hullabaloo gig was DEFINATELY not one of their best gigs, in the songs where there was a particularly high falsetto Matt wasn't quite hitting those top notes. I think that atmosphere wise it's either Earls Court or Glastonbury 2004 that're the best, their Rock AM ring performance was quite good too.IceBus said:Showbiz Showbiz Showbiz. Arguably their best album and the album I tend to put on more often than OoS![]()
It's also worth tracking down a copy of the In Your World/Deadstar single if you don't have it alreadyI'd also recommend Hullabaloo on DVD for the best representation of them live and on CD for a great collection of Muse B-sides and the live gig

They're in the Absolution era, yes... But i think that their live performances since Absolution have been better.
Outside of the Absolution era, Reading 2002 was probably their OOS peak despite such a short set.
IceBus said:Couldn't disagree with you more I'm afraid. Yes there are some flat notes from Matt at the Hullabaloo performance, but the whole band's performance is filled with improvisation, spontaneity and energy.
I went to two gigs on the OoS tour (Dublin and Reading) and three on the Absolution tour (Essex, Bournemouth and Brighton) and was bored silly at all of the Absolution shows.
Since the Absolution tour Muse have been playing a really sanitised version of what used to be a dynamic live show. Matt doesn't manipulate his guitar sound live anywhere near as much as he used to and all the samples etc. are exactly the same, which means any night you see Muse on a tour will be a perfect carbon copy of every other date of that tour. The more recent performances are flawless, but unbelievably boring because of the lack of improvisation or feeling from the band. Matt always stands on the amp at the same point in the same song etc. etc.
Muse used to take their pointers from At The Drive in and Rage Against the Machine for their live show... whereas now they put on a show far more akin to the snorefest that is Coldplay. Impressive lightshow, and absolutely zero charisma on stage.
