MX-5 Project log thread

To be honest, I would settle for 150bhp NA if I could get it. I only find it underpowered going up hills. I'd consider a charger or turbo though having watched the fun the turbo's had at Cadwell it might not be as much of a good idea with wife driving!!!

Firestar, both sets of instructions said to mount it that way up, I just followed them :confused: :o can't see it makes a great deal of difference either way, it's not the lowest point of the car IIRC
 
a further point I would like to make is that I reckon the 1.6 mk1 toyota mr2 feels a good bit stronger than the mk1 mx5 1.6 engine but that could be down to weight I suppose?

Ah right I see, glad you haven't been to Halfrauds buying shininy bits for it :p

Is it your only car and do you do many miles in it?
 
Nah I have my Accord for daily slogging, the MX-5 is my fun car only, so I probably do about 50 miles on the average weekend, sometimes more, sometimes not at all if the weather's crap :)

Looking back i was thinking about the IL Motorsports front brace, which i remember reading you should fit the lump pointing upwards just assumed it would be the same for this one, can't see it making any difference however.
