I wish that were the case Mr Latte, and the price still be £599 :p

Not a chance at that price, though currently prices for LCD are dropping every month with the advent of HDTV arriving...
I still find ever so slight ghosting even at 8ms but cant complain at being able to run a 40" desktop in 1920x1080.

You boys go ahead and enjoy your little 2405s ;)

you guys do remeber some of us who got these screens upon release got em for £650 so £599 is not a too drastic price drop ;)

still a pc monitor, with tv tuner and hdmi would be nice and its bound to happen soon.

Hehe, not everyone has room for a projector ;)

I've decided (while being a bit tipsy) that I need/want to get that new Dell monitor, so I'm gonna go buy it \o/

ah that big screen, with its abit hard to understand which bit of kit you are reffering to ;)

anyways. anyone know if its ok to have one pc connected via dvi and another pc via the vga port? i used to own the dell 2001fp before an it buggered up when connected like this. just wonder if its the same with the 2405

Can anyone recomend a graphics card (or two) that will drive the latest games (BF2, FEAR etc) at native resolution with all the effects turned up on the 2405?

Well, depends on if you have AGP or PCIE...

AGP = an x800 or x850XT, with PCIE either a 7800GT(X) or a ATI 1800XT... try with a single card, and if need be plop in another for SLI.

No single AGP card will do that for sure...

I doubt even the 7800GTX/1800XT will play new games @ native with EVERYTHING on - need some compromises...

In answer to your question, youll need SLI/Crossfire IMHO

ps3ud0

it is, i got an agp 6800gt and i play bf2, css, dod s and gta sa fine at native res

only prb i find wiht bf2 is that game laggs for a few seconds when i hit the screen shot button

I find this a little hard to believe as well t.b.h... If so that must be some 6800 card....

Tried playing BF2 on my 2004FPW at 1920x1200 on a OC'ed 7800GTX, was ok but not smooth as silk. Had to add another 7800GTX for SLI action to get really playable framerates at 1920x1200 with AA/AF

Are you sure you've set to 1920x1200 res via the command line and weren't infact playing at a lower widescreen res scaled to fit the panel?

I can only get smooth action at 1280 x 1024 either 'letterboxed' or upscaled by the monitor to fill the screen, so there's no way you're going to get 1920 x 1200 native resolution running smoothly with a 6800GT

I run BF2 on a 6800GT/2405FPW; my advice is use 1280x800 and use 4xAA and all high options except disable high textures...perfectly smooth on a 3700+/2GB PC3200/6800GT
