My new Dell 2405FPW - pictures & first impressions

I agree Goodwin, best to leave until after Christmas but get your paperwork done now so that your covered by the 7 day distance selling as well as any warranty that you can fall back on. I think its a good Idea to make contact with the shop today if possible.

Not sure what is causing that ]MadBoy[ Have you tried different resolutions and both the DVI and analogue connections to see if there is a difference. It could be the monitor, but just as easy be the graphic card or cable.

Cool cause i was wondering shall i opt for the 20" but i really do want the size for modelling/photoshopping and the odd bit of video editing i do. oh and watching movies.

shame 1600x1200 cant scale properly on this monitor otherwise i could have lovely res (up from 1024x768 that im on atm)

and im starting building my mod "Project: Geek-out" sometime this week but its matx and they have no damn sli matx on the way :(

So id have to go for one card

i havent got bf2 atm it runs like crap on my current rig (p4 2.8 lappy with a wonderful awe inspiring 64mb radeon 9000 mobility)

but yeah i know theres ways of bumping up the res. but all im saying is running the game at native res with a lot of eye candy can be taxing and im looking at running it on a 7800gt cause the gtx is too expensive atm unless it comes down in price before the end of jan

Running anything on this monitor above 1024xblah looks pretty damn amazing, tft's ain't what they used to be, read back some of the pages in this mile long thread mate, you will be fine with a nice 7800gt. Native does look stunning but even on my 7800gtx Extreme FEAR runs choppy at even 1600xblah mate.

I absolutely love playing strategy games on this monster. Age of Mythology is fab. You can see so much more of the playing area which helps immensely. All I need now is Dawn of War for a Christmas pressie.

yeah i cant wait playing aoe 3 and civ 4 on it.

ive also decided to go for the x1800xl now as it seems to be a monster overclocker as ive heard you cant push the GT that much under water and the xl under water beats a gtx stock... supposedly

Shame they dont do a 512mb XL version... or do they?

Does this monitor come with a zero dead pixel policy?

If I happened to get it replaced, do I need proof of purchase? Or what's the process of replacing it.

Have just bought one from the members market.

Can't wait to get it :D.

triggerthat is correct. Viewsonic have a zero dead pixel replacement policy. Their UK head office confirmed this with me by email before I placed my order for the VP930.

Mery Christmas everyone. :D
