I think its done with the grid lines, I remember seeing something about this further back in this topic. Sorry I can't be more precise.

Found it for you. :D
Thanks for digging this out but i think that is using the nvidia software? Not sure Catalyst has any equivalent as pd3ud0 says :( Cheers anyway guys, guess I'll just have to wait until they implement it!

You could always make the suggestion to ATI Catalyst Crew - hopefully if a number of us request for the feature theyll implement it...

Ive not seen a 3rd party app that does the same...

P.S. This is the image I posted to them aswell - feel free to use it as an example:

Baddass?? ;)

After quite a while of dordling about what tft to get, i think i have made up my mind about getting a 2405 :)

Just a couple of questions:

1) I was originally going to go with a dual monitor setup, but decided i will be using the monitor for watching films quite abit aswell,
And after reading Baddass's review at TFTcentral, it says "watching the movies from a few metres away is fantastic", will 2metres away be as good? or by few do you just mean .. not right up close as if your gaming? :)

2) Will a x850xtpe cope with playing games (sometimes fps) on it at native rez?
Dont mind having to drop some/all the eye candy.

Only a few questions. Sorry if these have all ready been answered.

Thanks for any help, just those 2 Qs and a weeks pay stopping me from confirming my order. :D

What games do you play?

I have a X850 XT PE myself which is overclocked. And it copes very well.

Everything is set to max for CSS, however I have noticed it dipped below 60fps.

yeah, by a few metres i mean just not sat at the desk watching the movie as if you were playing a game / working. I tend to watch from maybe 2 metres away now and any noise which might be apparent is soon forgotten as you admire the size and clarity of the screen. Just so nice to have a screen where videos fit the whole screen! :)

What are Dell's policies with dead pixels?

I have recently noticed 2 always on black pixels on the right of the screen.

What is the process of getting it replaced by Dell as I recently purchased the monitor from the MM.

I got mine from a well known seller on that auction place (before OCUK dropped the price otherwise I would have from here) and I am wondering the same as I have a dead pixel, lightbleed, screen door and earlier the brightness went completely boobs up and I had to wait 10 minutes before it came back to normal. Not terribly happy considering I've had it just over a week :(

Guess you need to contact the member that sold it to you m8. I've no idea how the warranty goes when the item is sold to someone else though? I'd think you would be covered, but dunno about 2 dead pixels? From what I've heard nobody replaces for just 2, and I'm not necessarily agreeing with that policy.

Just how noticeable are the dead pixels? maybe they are just stuck pixels? I've heard that if you rub that area on the screen a stuck pixel can come back to life !

Thankfully the new one I bought from OcUK the other week seems to be totally defect free, and that's good news with my normal bad luck in getting a dud! Let us know what Dell say though, be interesting to hear their take on this.

Good luck.

As a side note, has anyone actually had Dell replace their 2405? How does it work? they pick it up and drop off a new or refurbished one at the same time or what?

The 4 year warranty is a comfort though.

I think after their technical people confirm a fault over the phone they send a courier with a new one who drops off a new one and picks up the broken one i think. Can someone confirm?
