My new Samsung 26" LCD

PGR3 looks a little dark, is it that bad?, and hows the quality when your playing in a bright room?

I can assure you it is brighter than what you can see in the picture. You have to take into account the adjustments the camera has made. :) One problem is that the screen can be too bright unless you use the brightness sensor and allow the set to adjust depending on your lighting conditions.

I have a fairly bright room with the sun coming straight in during the afternoons and halogen spots for the evenings. The display is still clear and vivid although, having said that, the light sources do not hit the screen directly.

They look real good lightbulb, although I plugged tv into pc and played cod2, and it looks so much better than the xbox360 one, on a normal sony crt too. However driving games and sports games are just made for consoles and you need one to be playing on one to get that same atmosphere, as for fps well i might play tv to pc now as i like using mouse too. Basicallywhat im saying is, if you have a good PC and a decent tv not HD or anything just normal then you can accomplish the same thing but better in some cases. Im off to by me a wireless keyboard and mouse now and try convert the 360 controller for PC :)

edit: nvm 360 is usb anyway and made fkor pc didnt know

I cant wait till mine comes every time i see a delivery van i think its for me so i rsh downstairs to open the door and its not even for me,Hoping they will deliver i dont think i can manage 1 more week without a tv.

I have selected a res that the tv wont do in css, is there any way to change the game resolution without actually going in game and which is the best resolution to choose?

Forgive my stupidity with the above question, had to go into the regedit and change from there. Anyways i am happy enough with my 26", the only gripe i have is that im using a wee crappy aerial and the quality of the channels arent that great.

Mine hasnt yet arrived but i will only be using a small arial is its for my bedroom, But i live in a strong area for freeview, If the quality isnt good i will get a signal booster arial

how are the 27 inch t series? and how do i connect hdmi to a 27 inch er when it has dvi?, how much are adaptors? how do i get audio?

Any idea on whats better between...

A Dell 2405fpw Monitor

-V-

One of these Samsung 26" LCD TVs
in Dual screen mode with a cheapish Samsung SM-913N.

It would be for Movies and Gaming.

Im thinking the Samsung LCD TV would be good for widescreen gaming and movies,
and the Samsung Monitor for faster pased gaming and non widescreen gaming.

The Dell would be used for both, just worry about support for running at native with new upcomming games.

Also, the dell would proove to be around £100 cheaper compared to the Dual Samsung setup.

Just wondering what you wise ppl think is best: Price/Performance wise.

Cheers for any help.

if just console gaming and movies I would say samsung (larger than dell and 16:9 res so many movies will fill screen)

dell great for PC (res and connectivity), PC games (pixel match etc)... res is a little too high for DVD movies and console games (xbox HD modded and 360 aside) so scaling is evident

also depends how far you are sitting away from the screen...

EDIT: Just reread your post getting two screens one big and one small would be a bit wierd ...guess depends on room layout. The dell does pixel match so you can run 4:3 without streching and just have black borders but still be the same size as the second smaller samsung model you mention. Especially as you mention if new graphically demanding games come out and trying to run at 1920x1200.

PS ...the faster paced gaming is much of a muchness on both screens

Calling all samsung LCD TV owners ... lol

Just a question about colour banding.

I recently recieved (2 days ago) the samsung le23t51b which i read has the same screen inside as the more common le23r41/51b models, but connecting it up to my PC via a VGA cable, colour on a gradient etc have quite distinctive banding, esp going from black to gray to white.... and also in other colour gradients.

Does anyone else get similar things, the way i noticed was by doing a simple large rectangle in fireworks/paint/photoshop and putting a black to white gradient in and i could see lines of banding as it changed in colour

Hope that makes sence, this will be my first LCD TV/monitor you see so i'm not sure what to expect....

thanks guys

Been using the 26" Samsung for the Xbox 360 via VGA cable - i'm finding it a little dark in some games and not as colourful as it could be - anyone else? Is Component better for the 360?

I'm defo after the LE26R41B But I cant find it in stock anywhere, im keeping my eye on 3 online electronic's retailers but I dont see why I should pay more than 599.99 / .97 for the luxury of having it now but I was wondering if any one knew ne where that had stock which was at that price, and if so could they let me know please.

agaionst rules to tell you where to get it anywhere let alone at specific proce - and to be honest why would a rare saught after set get LOWER in price than it was originally marketed at? ie approx £640

Personally think yur hoping for too much

Well when I said what I said maby I was being to strict or not clear, I was trying to say but it didnt come out that way is that there are 3 retailers im keeping an eye on and they have it for 599.99 delivered online but there arent any retailers with it in a reasonable price bracket that are in stock. I was wondering if any one had seen any more recently, I accept that I wont be able to get it for the price I would like (which is as cheap as possible) but I would like to get it.

Sorry mate understand you now, however I think you will find as soon as they get any stock they may well put the price up to nearer £650 - £700 for the freeview models maybe sub £650 for standard tv

Good luck either way
