My new Samsung 26" LCD

if I get banned for this you lot have to scream to the dons to get me back.

I live at Home, I like going to the cinema, I own a tv. I live in the .uk area

OK seriously.... is it just me then who isn't giving very good hints. Someone conferm for me that:
A, I suck
B, You get the hints

You can't choose both, lol

The two things holding me back atm are:

1) Risk of broken pixels. Are there ANY places (I don't want names) that take them back regardless of broken pixels
2) 1360x768 seems to basically be a widescreen version of 1024x768. I'm used to working at 1280x1024, so I'm a bit worried that games will suddenly look low rez, and my desktop space will be reduced (vertically anyway!)

Put my mind at ease please! :D

What do I do with games that dont support that resolution? I religiously play a half life mod called Natural Selection which has just the basic standard monitor settings (800x600, 1024x968, 1280x1024, etc) - how do these look on this display?

**EDIT1**

This will indeed be the deciding factor upon purchase. What do users do with programs/games/etc that dont conform to the native resolution of the sammy? I am gonna either risk getting the Dell 24" and pray for lil ghosting and the ability to play at higher resolutions or stick with the sammy 26" n pray that I can easily play other games that dont support widescreen resolution.....

**EDIT2**

Yes I'm still a smacktard as I never did work out the clues!!! :p

Hey,

yeah I just ordered the 26" Samsung with Freeview of a website for £640 delivered, then as soon as order was processed, it said awaiting stock.

I couldnt wait 3 weeks or whatever length of time it was, so I cancelled, and went to my local big retail store group which had it for £799, and also not in stock.

I then went only 100 yards down the road to a another 'regional' retailer here in Northern Ireland and got it there and then for £650.

Not too bad I thought.

Getting used to the wide display, and not so much vertical display (had a 1280x1024 before), but this is gonna be sweet for when the Xbox 360 hits the uk, with hd support.

One question, does any here use Scart to play the xbox 1 through it? DVD's off the xbox play fine, but playing Halo 2, it really does become crap, any suggesstions on the best colour/brightness/contrast levels to use in Halo 2?

Thanks
Rossmac

I am absolutely delighted with this Sammy, yeah tv even freeview looks pants but every dvd i have played looks fabulous, just rebuilt my pc so will be posting pics of Serious Sam and FEAR and GT Legends in the next day or so

Just need to get a decent audio cable to link to my amp

OK someone spend my money please:

I have a 24" CRT TV - it feels small. I want to replace it.

26" or 32" LCD? Space might be an issue however so I will supply a pic (when I find my camera cable)

Im using the samsung as my pc monitor right now. When the xbox360 comes out will i be able to run 360 and pc at the same time or will they both need to share the same connection?

Robert2k, you'll be able to run the PC via VGA and the x360 via component (that's how you'll get your HD). The component cable comes with the premium pack as far as i could understand, and is the one i have pre-ordered.

To switch between the two when set up like that you just need to press the 'source' button on the control. Easy. :)
