My new Samsung 26" LCD

Raider, i find it more than good enough. Looks the business (i'll have to get some more pics of it running some games put up here) and i just bump up the AA etc if its needed. Obviously you wont get the same kind of clarity as you would running at 1600x1200 for example, but the size of the image you get is amazing..really puts you in the game!

I suppose if AA and Aniso are on then it won't look that bad. If you're all happy with it, then i'm sure I will be :)

Still wouldn't mind finding somewhere local to buy it, that way if I really found any kind of problem I could take it back. Time to try some aggresive price matching me thinks :D

can owners of this sammy please tell me what the quality of picture is like with games that do not support the native resolution? Its worryin me that I may buy this n then find it doesnt do me very well as I play games that dont have the "widescreen" resolutions such as CS 1.6 n Natural Selection (n mebbe C&C Generals, etc).

Anybody know of some sites that actually have this in stock at a decent price? :o
Got it on order at two places at the moment, waiting to see which comes in stock first, then cancel the other one. Although if I'm unlucky, I'll end up with two :p

I have the following spec - Opty [email protected], 2Gb (1Gb corsair 440, 1Gb geil value)Ram, 7800GT,1* 36Gb raptor and 1 80gb maxtor, Mistique sound card and sony 5.1 amp with Acoustic Energy speakers and REL sub - just to give you a full idea and I have just installed Serious Sam II. WOWWWWW!!!!! not sure how to take full screen images in game to post them here, my digi cam isnt showing its full glory, but you really dont need to worry the size of the image is fabulous, and I know i have a pretty meaty pc but believe me its definitely worth it. FPS 's have never been so good, initial slight slow down at beginning of level ( think this is because 1Gb of my ram is geil value ie going vvvvvslow, ballistix i ordered isnt seeminly playing fair) seriously gobsmacked

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Arg!! Just went into a shop today and this time they had the 32" version set up! And the quality of the desktop image was amazing! Even with a VGA connection the picture was stunning.

If I was buying for the living room I'd get it over the 26" anyday. But for PC use it really is too big me thinks :(

Think I'll still go for the 26" version if I can find a local place with one in stock! Need to start selling a few things to make up the money though! So long Xbox! :D

Hi,

Does the TV come with a VGA cable to hook the PC up to the TV?

Also I am getting a PowerColor Radeon X800 GTO with HD features on it from a online shop that sounds like the auction place ;) Can anyone tell me if this is sufficient enough?

I shall also be using the TV for TV, Monitor and Xbox 360 among all my other consoles.

No

Of course, but I duno what the HD features are. Sounds like aload of crap to me.

Where can I get the VGA cable from off the Internet relavtively cheap? I'm not quite sure what cable to go for so all help would be greatly appreciated.

Yuo dont have a spare monitor to get your vga cable from? Its a standard vga cable nothgn special at all. All VGA cables are identical , apart from the quality of constituating parts fo course. I would go down to Dixons or whoever, i dont think you will save much by getting it over the internet - unless you cant get to anywhere easily

My monitors VGA cable goes staright into the back without you being able to unplug it, as far as i've seen VGA cables are double ended VGA connectors and I wasnt aware of a connection on the TV. I would have also thought the resolution on this wouldnt be very good especially being analouge, I would have presumed that a DVI to HDMI connector would be much better? Can anyone give me a link (not on a site that sells stuff) to the type of cables I should consider so I know what I'm looking out for? My TV is coming week commencing 28th Novemember :D

I only have 3 small questions, (umm... not really been following much about this TV until this thread TBH)

What connections does it have? In other words, Component, svideo, scart, RF?

What is the image like on a regular non HD image, like for example NTL digital thru a scart cable?

And lastly, what is the 26" model that you guys are using? is it LE26R41B ?Thanks again, once again sorry if the questions are a bit stupid, I just dont wanna get the wrong thing ;)

*edit*

I found these connections for the 32" version, are they the same on 26?

Ok then, I think I will grab this TV :) Either this one or the ACER one mentioned in the other thread.... TBH, I prefer the idea of this one.

I was gonna buy a Dell 2405FPS, but decided buying one of these to be better, because I save around 100, I can then buy a second 19" CRT monitor for dual screens, and have a nice HDTV :) What do people think? sound like a plan? *confused look*
