My wife had a fall :-(

One thing for everyone to remember is that most warranties don't cover for accidental damage, just like most building contents insurance have an excess to pay, that is why I am quite happy to pay for a replacement cover regardless of what happens type policy.
If I was to have claimed for everything that I have had replaced in this last year via various replacement policies (ok most of which are small items from catalogue shops etc) it would have been 25+ insurance claims, now of course nobody in there right mind is going to claim on their contents insurance for a kettle, but if your happy to pay £4 replacement insurance for a £12 kettle that you know wont make it through the year let alone 3, then why is £15.99 a month too muich for a £2400 TV. I must admit that I never expected the TV to survive for 5 years but Im not complaining.
Anyway this TV's cover is only £8 a month so that is only £480 for the same 5 years, not bad at all if you ask me.

I'll let you all know what the TV is like when it arrives tomorrow, er today, in the morning . :p

To reply to some of those above, its spec for spec/higher spec. So if Bru's old TV had a USP, then that would be why he was bumped to a H series (he timed that very well mind, the H series has only been out 2 weeks :D)

Yeah your the exception to the rule.

For 99.9% of people they would be better off without insurance..

That's not quite true accidental damage cover by it's very name is to cover against "accidents", people have kids who do silly things, and they are not the only ones who do so...insurance at that monthly amount would not be ideal, but when you can buy 4 years cover direct from the likes of Sony for less than £100 including accidental damage it makes sense.

And claiming against home insurance usually comes with an excess and bumps your overall premium for a few years after you claim.
