So, do it, if you get enjoyment just from the building alone then why not. You can always sell your model on. Who knows, it could be hit.

Why not just build a model rather than an RC model if you have no intention of flying it?
Guess it would cost less.
I prefer the building too but like flying. You could design some foam models, that way cost is really low and you can tinker with experimental designs. Test fly, improve, rip out the electronics and then design something else to put them in.
Have a balsa model I built last winter on the bench that hasn't been flown yet.

I had one of those about 5 or so years ago when they first hit the market. A lot of fun. As you can run it on the grass and on the water then apply elevator and it flies. Great fun. But is a pig to control. Very twitchy.

Hey if a 10 year old with no experience can fly this, I am sure I can, it has been known to be really easy to fly with, hence why its a trainer.

Do what you want, it's your time and money. It is a trainer. A trainer with a high wing, that's good. Just like your Wott4, so what could go wrong.
Well done on buying the prettier, more complex, more challenging and more expensive option

EDIT: actually thinking about it, this is a perfect second plane (assuming of course you are able to fly your first one)! People go rudder, elevator, throttle and dihedral for good reason.
