NEARLY 2 WEEKS WAITING: Nissan GT-R is finally mine!

You know whats really ****? Plastic manky coolant tanks.

As such...

The ceramics have been pushed back... again LOL at this rate i'll never get them on.

Litchfields rang up today, customer there having some work done, wanted ceramics on the car TODAY. However the only set they had in were mine, and given there is a 8 week lead time for a new set to be manufactured and sent out they couldn't do it unless I let them fit mine to his car and push it back for me.

A deal sweetener was obviously on the table and I couldn't say no. I think everyone came out that deal happy.

How much have you spent on this to date?

I totally understand if you'd rather not think about it lol

~£5k first year, 2 services, piston and mag clips, 6 tyres, front brakes and discs, insurance, tax
~£5k second year 2 services, 4 tyres, rear brakes and discs, insurance, tax, exhaust, intakes, ecutek license, stage 3 remap, gearbox remap

I'll lump all the incoming upgrades into the 3rd year. But already past the 5k mark. Which will be a minimum of 2 services, ceramic brakes + pads all around, braided brake lines, brake cooling, brake master cylinder mod, MOT, coolant tank.

Also, race fuel turned up :D

May I ask why you've bought 'race fuel'? :p

So he can make more power. I am sure he can switch his tune over to a high octane race fuel tune for an extra 50 horses or so. :)

Just like you can get tunes for 95 RON and 99 RON, you make more power. Some ECU's are adaptive and some require tunes switching to take advantage, all dependent on the knock sensor setup on the car.

Ready for vmax :)

@Gibbo did you or mac want a can or 2? (Its cheaper than shell vpower ;) )

No mate, the Jaaaag I believe is tuned for RON 95 so for me it would offer no benefit and it gets Vpower anyway, no point in this.

If I was running Mustang then yes as I had the knock sensors turned to flex fuel so they were adaptive and could automatically add more timing for better fuels.

I shall ask Mac and let you know but as he is super charged they probably have the tune set tighter for safety as much bigger chance of BOOM on an SC car than an NA car. ;)

You know. That all sounds relatively cheap... 10k over two years isn't that bad.

What's good to know is it's being looked after properly. The bmw thread is a fine example of people not looking after great cars. M3s on budget tyres with collapsed suspension being a prime example.
I love seeing what Kindai does next!

Fairy nuff, more for me :D

Thats £500 a month, excluding fuel. I could probably get that down to £200 a month if I didnt indulge myself on some of the extras.

Hi guys!

So today was a bit of a fun day :)

Was in at Lichfields for a G1 service, and was just discussing the up and coming events, particularly vmax200. I had picked up some race gas for it, so just wanted to check with Iain about running it, and possibly mapping to take advantage. However, as it turns out at stage 3 the injectors on a GTR are running full out, so adding 102 could be very bad if it started to run lean.

So... time for new injectors!

First thing first, old ones out.

i.php

To be replaced with ANSU 1050cc injectors. I spoke with Iain in detail about this, and after extensive testing, he said the 1050's are simply the best there is in every aspect and should more flow be needed, its better to add a second rail with a second set of 1050's than move upto 1200 or 1600 etc.

New ones tested and added.

All snug and ready to fuel the car forever more.

With the new injectors cozy in place, finally got rid of that manky coolant tank

And off to the dyno!

Litchfields dyno is something else. The air flow through that room is like a wind tunnel, when they turn the rear fan on, the air it sucks is enough to require an absolute effort to open the door to get out. I can see why maha are so impressed with the setup, it really does create flow as if the car was moving.

Anyway took a video from the outside... bit too loud inside + the wind noise would ruin it.

The result being a not unrespectable 660hp.

Very excited to give the car a beating in the coming months and put it through its paces. As always, Lichfields are such a good company and tell you the options and leave it to you, there was no hard sell but for the sake of a few hundred quid may as well have the extra safety the uprated injectors offer.

Roll on santa pod :)

It has to be a ten second car now, it has to be! :)

Can't wait to run on Litcho's dyno next month as its the highest and most accurate maha in existence as its a single contact AWD one, best in business so big thanks for letting me tag on the GTR dyno day. :)
