Cool, cheers mate will order in the morning I think, if there still in stock. Will have to go back if its got even 1 stuck pixel though, for £400+ it has to be perfect

Completely agree. I think everyone should take this attitude with tft monitors, why should consumers accept paying hundreds of pounds for an item with a defect? The more people that send monitors back if they have such an issue, the more likely it is that retailers and manufacturers will start to ensure these issues do not occur in their stock. £400 for an item with a noticeable defect is unacceptable...

Fingers crossed for you mate, i know you've been waiting. I remember you on the Philips thread, and that was like 4 weeks + ago now, you sir have the patiences of a saint. Hope the luck is on your side. :)

lol patience was indeed wearing thin, but then again so was my financial oomph heh. I'll do a review for the TFT review thread when I get it and have a play around. I'm not going to make it too in-depth though, igors has already done 99% of the legwork. :D

I am a VERY fussy little sod though and if there's any negative ghosting/blurring issues then i'll spot it.

Bizzarrely, even though I have very keen eyesight and perception, I was LAN gaming on an Acer 19" monitor at work which uses a S-IPS panel and I was flabbergasted at how little, if any, ghosting/blurring I actually noticed while playing. I noticed a bit of texture blurring as I turned to pop off headshots, but not much to write home about, and I forgot about it instantly, it really had no effect on my frags or general gaming experience whatsoever.

I am really starting to think that this whole LCD ghosting issue may be in large part some sort of unjustified paranoia/phobia that has been exaggerated to make it seem like a living hell on any panel higher than 8ms when it certainly isn't by a long chalk.

I was thinking the other day abot this 8ms marlaky, remember when the Samsung 25ms came out and people were using that as the standard? Back then 8ms was light years away and which would be the holy grail. At 16ms it was smooth as hell, now people are looking for ghosting at 8ms seems a little illogical to me.

I personally won't look for defects, I am happy with mine and loving it so far. There is no point looking for faults that i wouldn't notice at normal use, that would just make me get irratated if I actually find one. It's been a month of use and have not spotted any dead pixels, watched numerous movies and everyone has been fantastic. That's all I needed to know.

Well said. :)

Indeed - I can see a couple of bits of light bleed on the monitor, but they are only noticable if I look for them and only when the screens black - which it almost never is. The montor won't be going back - unless something worse/unliveable-with develops. Excellent monitor, well happy.

It does seem to have become a little negative here which is a shame as this monitor really does rock.

If you have one on order relax, you will love it.

If your thinking of ordering stop thinking just get the bugger ordered now !!!

We could all sit and wait for the next big thing and as a result never buy anything as there is always something better on the horizon.

Enjoy fellas !!!!

If I get bad bleed or any dead pixels I may cry.
Dear Richdog,

I understand you completely. I was in the same "mood" as you. I'm very picky in life when choosing the things and it was exactly the same story with this monitor. I'm sure that you will be pleased with the monitor. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee the backlight bleed free or dead pixels free state of the panel ;) Let's just hope that current OCUK batch of this monitor is not suffering from those side effects ... or even better question is if this monitor is seriously suffering from those problems at all ?!

As I already mentioned, mine is pixel perfect and with the 0 backlight. Still no "confirmed" response from other users around about the dead pixels ... so far so good. Some of them had light bleed which faded away after few hours (or even next day) and that's all I know for now. No serious problems of any type.

If you are *really* picky about the monitors, we have one guy who changed the "15" LCD monitors and he was always negative about them and sick of the swapping. He is now "settled" with the NEC and he is raving about this monitor on the forums around. Quite accomplishment, isn't it ? ;) He purchased the US version, but essentially they are based on the same technology.

Personally, I think that NEC is currently offering the best possible colour reproduction, image quality and response times - money wise. Even if you opt for the larger screens (like 24" or higher) I doubt that they can match the NEC display quality & response times ... and you are also paying the massive price premium for the 4" extra, as they are almost 70% more expensive. (starting price is at least £700, here in UK).

Dead pixels are the only thing that really bother me, guess we'll see though. :)

Does it some with a DVI cable?

yes - and vga-vga and usb uplink. Mine had no dead or stuck pixels or subpixels, just the in-practice unnoticable small light-bleeding on the left hand side. Excellent panel.

Is gaming seamless for you too? Are you a proper widescreen gaming convert now? :)
