Check to make sure that antialiasing and 'enable surface format optimization' are disabled in CCC. Someone mentioned a few pages ago that the last option caused problems.

Ati performance seems a bit dodgy atm, just like Shift 1 on release, so you might need to drop shadows down to medium or low to get extra fps until a patch is released.

Turning off in-game aa will probably double your fps, if you have it on atm.
 
As you can tell by the timing of this post, im looking forward to coursework deadline week being over so I can finally have a good sesh on this. 2 more days. Just 2 more days. And if I fail at least I've got trusty PC to keep me busy.

Try searching then! I don't know as I dont have the problem and I don't know if there is a definitive answer for you!
 
im still waiting for someone to remove the crappy out of focus/depth of field rubbish effect thats going on during the replays.

someone removed all the silly filters from shift1 so i guess eventually it will happen.

hate all these crap consolitus effects devs use it doesnt make the game look good or more relaistic... it just kills the image quality, the game uses some fairly decent res textures there is no reason to be hiding them
 
With regards to modding this, do you have to unpack it like you did with the original Shift?

Also if so, can you do that to the Steam version?

It apparently can be unpacked but can't be run with the -loose statement as it appears to have been disabled by EA. Guys over at nogrip are trying hard to work it out and have even managed to rip out the cars from Shift 2 and put them into Shift 1 but mods are still having to be done with pak files.

So the mods atm, are just a case of replacing the pak files then?
