Netflix here we go again.

Can't be bothered to login and press 3 or 4 buttons that takes all of 30 seconds?
I could do that I guess. A month on a month off and try and watch whatever Netflix content just in the 'on' months, but no, I cba to do that. There's enough good content that I watch fairly often and it would be just annoying if something good comes out on an 'off' month.
I'm reminded of the saying, "a fool and his money are soon parted"
How much is it? Like £15 a month? Really? That makes someone a fool? I know people that will pay £6 for a pint of beer, or £200 for a purse, but £15 for a month of good TV is foolish...?

Netflix are enforcing their terms and conditions. They don't want customers who break them by giving logon details to family or randoms. They end up with a more stable user base and can possibly offer better output.

I asked the OH to select our channel when she visited her sister (account owner) once a week, in the hope it would not chuck us out, but she forgot, we got chucked.

OH Signed us up yesterday to the standard package.

  • Watch on 2 supported devices at a time

No, I wouldn't say that spending £15 a month for good TV is foolish. If you find enough to watch that interests you, have at it! I was merely referring to the fact that leaving a subscription running just because you cannot be bothered to spend 30 seconds to cancel it, to me, seems foolish. £15 for 30 seconds work is like getting paid £1800 per hour (after taxes!).

I see that they have now started implementing the Household requirements. Started up last night and it came up with a screen that showed I had to edit the household or there was an “I’m travelling” option. Oh well.

No more binge watching. Now they’re apparently going to stop dropping whole series at once and just upload an episode a week in an attempt to stop people binging then cancelling.

They're completely destroying the service with this total horlicks of changes

Could be a good thing, weekly scheduling makes poor shows drop viewers week on week when things aren't up to the scratch - makes it abundantly obvious when shows don't need a renewal.

The current trend of dropping a whole show with vast swathes of glass eyed viewers watching 8-12 hours of a show over a weekend, seeing everything but taking in nothing leads to renewals of sub-par shows over and over. /sweeping generalisation ;)

Anyone who wants to binge can just wait until the last episode is shown, the option remains, just exercise a little patience.

They're just following the practice of all of the other streamers as no one drops entire seasons in one go anymore. Also, Netflix hasn't done that with the Great British Bake Off for many years, so it's no surprise that they've just adopted the policy for every show.

I'll still be subscribing to a service, binging some shows, and then cancelling every few months.

I think thats a good thing really. Means you can chat about episodes on the same level rather than someone being on epsiode 2 and another having binged the lot in one day.

am I right in thinking the standard package can be watched by three people at the same time? (ie, 2 streams + 1 extra member?)

or is the additional member basically an additional IP address and profile?

I agree not as much on it as there used to be.
But still more than any of the others combined.

Seems like fragmentation is starting to hurt

Just wait for the series to finish then sub, binge and cancel so netflix logic doesn't work. Maybe if netflix had good content they would keep people. Has gone down a lot in recent years. Barely watch it now. Lining the pockets of the top no doubt. Milk that cow dry.

Could also be about time to protest against the old conventional one month subscription minimum period and have it changed to the standard two weeks seen in other consumer rights. Time to **** with Netflix! :D

Kodi is going to be popular again it seems.
I use Kodi to watch football and it's great, never looked into other content as got another app on Firestick which has Movies/TV shows.

Only reason I'm still paying for Netflix is for the ease of use/interface and downloads for tablet/phone. Thinking now if it's still worth it hmm.
