Oh, no, the 'tweaked' G80 8800 GTS is just a revision of the old 8800 GTS with 112 shaders, not exactly bang for buck but I guess they have to get the old G80 stock out there somehow, has the same HSF as the old GTS too. There's a supposed 8800 GTS coming out on the G92 core as well. Looks like that marketing name is gonna get pretty damn crowded.

Yes lol, why don't they just make a 8850 or 8900, sigh.... Everyone confused, people buying old cards when they want the "new" one. I can see it happening :D

Im just wondering what to do atm...

Get a highly clocked 8800GT ordered and enjoy :)

Wait for the new 8800GTS and enjoy :)

do you guys think the price of the 8800gt will drop much around the time that the gts comes out? I doubt I'll be getting a gts (way out of my budget) but I don't know if it's worth waiting until the last minute to get my gt for christmas :)

No annoucement on the supposed launch date ie. 19th of november, if it's not next week I'd be doubtful for a december release with an 08 release looking more likely.

Revised G80 GTS was released on 19th November. Three manufacturers have launched them

G92 GTS was due on 3rd December but now put back to 12th or 15th

I am sure that a new GTS is coming, Nvidia have said it is. But the question is that whether it'll be G92 or not - the other thread which apparant 1st hand Nvidia information said that it's a tweaked G80 and not a G92 which is the concern for me.

Nvidia's site list both a 640Mb GTS with 112sp and a 512Mb GTS with 128SP (G92)

There’s lots of info about G92-8800GTS, and we would like review it again: it will out in 11 Dec, have 128 SP, using 8800GT’s P393 PCB design, and have a upgraded dual slot cooler. The frequency will be 650/1625/1940MHz (core/shader/memory), much higher than the 8800 GT.

Though source mentions that G92-8800GTS will use two 6pin power connector, but the product looks only have one. the total power consumption will be as much as 140W. manufacturer suggest using a 400W ATX PSU.

There’s some pics leaked earlier, but the pic is too small, and under that cooler actually is a naked 8800GT with changed different baffle plate. Also the power module part is different. Following is the real physical Photo:

Anyone can think anyone they want. Until such time as a G92 GTS is benchmarked by someone or is available to buy then as far as I am concerned it does not exist and to be perfectly frank, until Nvidia themselves actually tell us that there actually is one in the pipeline then there isn't going to be one.

Lets be honest.. all of the 'info' so far on this card has pretty much all comew from newsgroups, forums and fanboys.

Well that sounds like good news then :) Guess it's just a case of how much. Considering the RRP on the GT is £140/£150 and it can be had now from places for that price (even seen a Club3D 512mb one for £138) then the GTS price surely can't be above £200?

Guess we'll see soon.

Looks like a Gigabyte 8800GT thats been down the gym! :D

[edit] although from everything I am reading its looking like the forthcoming 8800GTS doesn't offer much over the 8800GT?
