Id imagine since LG were at the front when it came to the ultrawide monitors and being the biggest company in the OLED tv market it wont be too long untill they start bringing out OLED monitors too.
Dunno about this first one, but LG are signed up for AMD's VESA adaptive synch over HDMI 2.0a so you can bet the OLED TVs will, and they already support it on lots of their other monitors.
The OLED monitor won't be using a standard scaler at all, anyone's guess whether they will have included adaptive synch for this first one. Hopefully. But maybe they hold that and other features back for their own brand a few months later.
Just spent 11 days away using only my Galaxy Tab S2 (OLED) tablet. Getting home today to my PC was pretty jarring.
Think I might be prepared to pay as much as £2k this year for an OLED monitor, IF I feel it represents value. Doubt this will be it as the first, however, though I'm sure it will hit under £2k before year end.
I'm surprised they are going after the TV market first, surely the bigger panels and limited value to the viewer is a weaker case than the PC market? I wouldn't rush to buy an OLED TV but the right sort of monitor would definitely have my interest.
I have the OLED TV and it makes my PG Ultra Wide look awful in comparison. I'm pretty sure I'll be jumping on this Dell (or a.n.other OLED monitor) if and when they finally land.
