New Dell IPS S2721DGF 165hz gaming monitor

I’ve just got the “review your S2721DGF monitor” email from Dell..

They are taking the Micky now!

I’ll be annoyed if this new variant of the monitor gets delivered to people strait after ordering.

If this new variant actually gets delivered, I'll be happy. Why not switch to this one? My other one is still in production too - happy to abandon it for this.

We’ll blow me down. I had an invoice in my inbox for the monitors and it’s been shipped. I have tracking details and it’s due on Wednesday.

I wonder if this means that the non-A variant will start shipping too?

This is ********, cancelled the monitor, not waiting until december for an older model. Promo codes aren't working either so I guess I will ask Dell tomorrow if they can get me another 15% off, else I'm gonna buy something from Amazon instead.

so is there any difference between the A and non A monitor?
I have a S2721DGF (FW M3T101 - manu. August) from EU and a S2721DGFA (FW M3T201 manu. September) from UK.

I bought a "S2721DGF" from a site and I got a S2721DGFA.
I think the S2721DGFA model may be the new one. I mean looking on the site its only £325.00! Dirt cheap! and ships today!

The only difference while being annoying is the brightness levels are different on the markers so 27/100 on EU one and 48/100 on UK one for 120cd/m2.

And the UK one gives notices if you going too bright - all that nancy stuff.

Once calibrated they are the same, apart from any panel variation (one is ever so slightly more "yellow" but again this is down to no two things being the same).

Annoying but they are the same part from firmware mods.

Also the 'A' model has a different box, they have removed 'nvidia gsync' logo, i do think the A model is here to stay and its the one they will ship into the future.

All the drivers show up as S2721DGF so it just a 'soft' versioning thing.

Also the wording on when the LED on is different "Off During Active" on non A vs "Off in On Mode"

So the brightness is less on the A model at the highest end?

no not less, scaled differently... 100% still 100%
The are enticing you to use lower brightness by have it spool up slower on the 0-100 scale...

just done a test and they both the same at 100% - very bright.
It makes HDR400 standard so yea.

I wonder why they felt the requirement / need to do that..?
The other stuff I can understand for compliance to certain regulations etc but it is still noted as supporting both adaptive-sync technologies, albeit the "Tech Spec" section is missing on the "A" advert compared to the non "A".

I doubt outstanding orders for non A ever ship now. Whatever stock they had was prob given to ITC sales and refurb shops - just a theory

"A" or "non" A makes no difference. Unless you have two you cannot tell the difference which can be forgotten once set and forget.

All i know for 325 is a stonking good monitor and everyone should have one. I only regret paying more and even more for the 2nd one but o well im chuffed with them.

One thing i noticed and I think its a driver thing if you have the monitors on clone mode and run Doom Eternal (not sure about other games) and turn on HDR the A monitor gets the colour brightness a bit wrong (the actual pixels not the brightness) Again this is drivers im sure.

Besides I dont run dual HDR it was just a test.

What’s everyone’s order status showing as? Ordered the A version Friday morning and still showing as ‘Confirmed’ really hoping it ships today as my other order is meant to arrive late December (placed early Oct)...

Awesome info, thank you

I have just had a text chat with sales and asked if I should cancel my S2721DGF order from 30 days ago and re-order the A version and the reply was a simple “Yes”.. So, I’ve done the same and now have 2 orders going. Annoyed that 1) the first order seems to be in some Dell limbo and 2)The new order is £20 more at £350.. Maybe Dell put all the £330 orders into the limbo bucket as they did not want to honour it?
