New Dell IPS S2721DGF 165hz gaming monitor

I just pulled the trigger. I returned my 27GL850 because i was unhappy with the backlight bleed and amount of glow. Hopefully the dell will be an improvement.

Does anyone have issues with reading text on this screen at higher refresh rates? Reading white on black in command prompt or the default syntax highlighting in Visual Studio Code messes with my eyes, almost like it's slightly blurry and I feel a headache coming along quickly. I didn't have any issues on an old 120hz BenQ.

Also just ordered one, it will sit alongside my existing legendary U2715H; which will continue to be my main productivity screen.

Received mine today, I'm not sure if its specific to my monitor or not, but in the top left and top right corners (just above the screen area) are 2 dots, does anyone else have these on their monitors? Really fussy, but as I know its there I keep noticing it.

Do you mean like stuck air bubbles , then yes. But it doesn't bother me though.

I get that right in the corner, but underneath that just above the visible screen area are what look like dead pixels either side in the exact same positions. See https://ibb.co/GQmpZMy

Yup have this also, not on the panel, but above. Think it's intentional as they are both placed symmetrically on each side. Wonder if there's a reason for them.

Thanks both for confirming. I expected it was, just because of how its identically positioned either side.

I definitely get a little flickering at 165hz, so I have left it at 144hz for now.

Its a no brainer IMHO. The DELL.

Given an equal price, the DELL wins anyways, MUCH better quality control, better design IMO, 3 year warranty with no worries about dead pixels etc etc, and I reckon the performance will be just as good, if not better, from what I have heard the contrast is better too, which sucks on the LG.

That is all assuming the same price, but the DELL is much cheaper on offer........

Like I said, NO BRAINER!

100% this Dell monitor. Don't regret my purchase at all. I've used the LG 27GL850 which is also a great monitor, but this trumps it for me. Also with it being cheaper makes it a definite clear choice too

I got the dell from uk @ 331 but it`s still available for 351£ with the 20% student discount and DELLMONNJ07 code for the uk store.

I got mine delivered today, I've used the LG 27GL850 before but I prefer this. First impressions, I love the grey colour scheme, very surprised by it in person. It can also swivel, unlike the LG. Motion in games even in FPS is very fluid, comparable to LG really to my eyes anyway. Contrast seems better than LG out of the box. IPS glow in my case was much less than the LG. The coating on the screen is nicer in my opinion, it seems less matte than the LG with a little bit more gloss but not too much. Don't regret the purchase at all not a single dead pixel or flickering issue.
