New essential Android apps thread

Ok there is definitely something not right because no apps will move when I hold down and drag.

I've not used it, so just throwing a thought out there, some launchers have a lock, to stop things getting moved accidentally. Have you looked for one?

**EDIT** Sorry, missed this next page.

Does anyone know of an app that allows me to have my SD card or say any folder on my phone backed unto my Synology NAS? Preferably once its connected to power?

Thanks

Looking for similar, I currently use Sweet Home to back up my Image folders and do documents etc manually

My favorite app is APPLOCK, I have been using it for the last 2 years.
it can lock your apps, image, and videos. so that my kids can't mess with my phone and download tons of online games i have never heard of.

I'm not a fan of the adaptive icons because many apps still don't support adaptive styling, so have a tiny icon inside the circle which looks weak :(

I'll enable adaptive icons once nearly all my apps have been updated with support.

Until then, classic style wins for me.

Look at this beauty:

As a stock Android I've user never looked into different launchers. I absolutely hate being forced to have the Google feed/card screen on m 6P after Oreo update. Just installed the Nova Beta... love it. Much much better! Thanks guys.

Noticed the Microsoft Launcher is not in preview any more. Downloaded it and I must say I'm pretty impressed, it's actually tempting me away from Nova. Although I guess I have been using Nova for years, I do fancy trying something different. May give this a go for a while.

Best Android VPN? Not really fused if paid but would have to be a one-off, I don't favour a subscription. Auto start option would be handy.

Cross plaform; phone/TV box etc., with a good amount of bandwidth - can be monthly reset or whatever. Recommendations?

Thanks.
