New essential Android apps thread

Hi Guys

What's the best email app, been using Outlook app but it doesn't seem to sync fully :( I've got GMail, Hotmail and a domain account I own ..

Pretty sure you don't have to. Do you need to set an "app password" instead of using your usual one? I have my Hotmail receiving in my Gmail account - it's easier to set up on a pc.

Oh you have to forward it to the Gmail account, thats that out then....

Any others?

You don't. Any idea what sort of domain account it is? Correct port/encryption/etc? I had Gmail working fine with a domain account via exchange before work decided to move everything email related to the cloud.

Its a domain name I own, imap is the way I normally set it up but I can't get past the password section without it saying the password is incorrect

Thanks, I've installed and GMail and Hotmail are working but I keep getting an IMAP error when trying to add my domain email, I've sent support an email to ask if they know what the issue is

:)

All sorted, fixed it myself but great support from Jonathan and team....

Clean, smooth and fast... Think I'll be sticking with this for the foreseeable future

What's it like at searching? I like the Gmail app but it's damn useless at search.

Sweet, will give it a go. Don't know what it is but on most occasions - the Gmail app just seems to get stuck thinking whilst searching (even though I know the email I am searching for exists). Has done this on multiple devices for me.

android is dumb.

can someone tell me how i'm supposed to extend these notifications? you click on the one you want and swipe down right? if so it's impossible as that just swipes all the notficiations lower so i can see the ones that are at the top. only possible way i can find is to swipe away a notification that's higher to get to the lower one, which is rubbish as i'm not done with the higher ones, but i want to access the lower ones which i can't

It should just be as simple as swiping down straight from the notification, don't even need to tap it first. Unless Oreo changed things around...
