New essential Android apps thread

Cheers! All the free stuffs I got with mine means I didn't actually pay a penny for the device!

Same here, bought from Amazon and got £5 back in credit initially, then with various other promos including this one it's actually come to cost me zip diddly doo dah, which is good because that's how much I've used it since buying it lol, oh well.

On the subject of chromecasts how much do they drop too? Got £15 Amazon credit and want one.

e; I'm a numpty I just used google, seems they don't drop too much :D So will grab one :p

I use mine all the time. Instead of downloading US TV programmes, I just use many of the online sites to stream the Flash video to my TV :)

And 733MB background over WiFi for the last 30 days....

... Seems Snapchat has been using lots of background data ever since the new Discoveries feature got implemented.

Looks like it is due to discoveries preloading in the background :/

Bloody hell... Although its a lot less its used 65.52mb for me in the background.

Is there any other option apart from restricting background app data?

Couldn't find any in the app sadly. It really is a poorly designed app tbh but I do like to see updates from people :p

have been using sync-me wireless for a while, when android updated the SD card permissions its not been up-to the job

can anyone recommend something else that writes to the SD card for lollipop
as apparently the SD card permissions have been fixed

Yep mrk got lucky that's nothing compared to some of the guys on reddit. Switch over to the Beta app and it doesn't do it as bad. Luckily I'm on the beta as this would have destroyed my data plan.

Lollipop as of an hour's use

Annoying issues so far:-

-No notification icons in the status bar on lock screen, but they appear when I unlock. As I have lock screen detailed notifications turned off, that means I can't see if an app like WhatsApp has a notification until I unlock as I don't have the icon on lock screen. Easier to show:

what do?
e: I suppose I could do this but I feel like all it will achieve is making the mrs suspicious :o

-Pressing the home button doesn't open notification bar properly, it starts to drag it down then reverses half way through like it's a "hold and release" type thing, even though it isn't :confused::confused:

-Apex drawer transparency doesn't seem to work any more
