Still haven't found away to hook up that extra case fan.. remember his motherboard only has one SYS_FAN slot on the motherboard.

Planning on it. I know I wont see great gains to start with but it's just nice knowing I have the best I can afford and it should hopefully improve and improve over time.

Just out of interest, why are we clearing the CMOS?

Put the new 1700 in, the heat sinks screws don't seem to reach the holes...

Nope.. the screws don't reach the holes in the motherboard...

Just checked video on YouTube and it's the same process as a 1600. They are the same coolers right?

Do I need the brackets that came with my motherboard by any chance? In the video he unscrews them though like I did with the 1600

Right the backplate had slid off for some reason, sorted now.. hope it bloody didn't damage anything when it slid off.
