New Gaming Rig Advice..

Haha. Performance on DayZ isn't great, people with Intel reporting 60FPS steady in cities and 100 out of cities. I'm getting about 30-40 in cities (feels very choppy though) and about 60-80 outside. Guess they haven't optimised for Ryzen CPU's yet.

You're getting nearly as good FPS as me and you're at 1440p!

Thing is mate I don't know what's good and what isn't really so I'll take your word for it! Having watched a few videos what I get seems to be the average for a 1070 so I'm happy, as long as everything is working as it should I'm good :D

Makes sense - that's the reason my gameplay appeared smooth. Although my FPS was relatively low it was pretty constant which may explain why it was smoother than i expected it to be - even though no V-SYNC.

So you didn't have V-SYNC on yet got smooth frames? Not quite I fully understand this sentence :D

Haha I'm trying to be good! But this GSYNC thing just seems right up my street. Making FPS drops (within reason) look smooth is all I want and this seems to be part of the answer. That and games should look glorious in 1440p!

At the moment on PUBG (I know, I know early Access) even an FPS drop of 15 - let's say 80-65 is very very noticeable and is a bit annoying. Same on DayZ as well.

I don't need tempting Plec...

I get my most in the opening 5 minutes of loading the game up. I haven't had one now in the last half an hour. Noticed a similar trend every time I've played it.

Haven't really experienced it in any other game, it doesn't stutter so to speak like Wildlands, the FPS drops are noticeable, kind of goes in slow motion for a second then catches up.

Was thinking a SSD may help as it could be to do with loading stuff in as it's a big map but you said you didn't have any so I don't know.

EDIT - Haven't played GTA as I'm focusing on completing Wildlands first (like to do one game at a time). Don't have BF1 on PC, will wait until it comes down in price.
