New Gaming Rig Advice..

I did read that review, hasn't done itself any harm!

So yeah, was on Wildlands then for roughly 2 hours, had some stutters in opening 5 minutes, after that it was completely smooth, that was with V-SYNC turned off as well. Have noticed that even on Ultra a few of the lines round objects seem to have a faint white line around them, sometimes flashing which is annoying. Some parts look grainy as well.

Hmm I don't know? I didn't think I'd have to worry about that as we only just recently wiped them.

I think eventually I will upgrade to a better cooler to get a good overclock out of my CPU but the stock seems to be doing a good job at the moment!

Yeah think you're definitely right, 24 inch is more than big enough for me, 27 is getting just greedy and would probably be a pain on first person shooter a in fact.

Also if I do get this monitor I would run a dual monitor set up, one to watch streams and stuff and the other for the gaming. Is that easy to do and does it have a negative impact on gaming performance?

It was custom built one so don't think it has a specific model number. Yeah looking forward to giving them all a go, want to get Witcher 3 I think for sure. I've played Stick Of Truth, so funny!

I am, but it's going to have to wait a good while!

I've got a question regarding afterburner, it's showing 1683 base and a 5508 boost....

It's the Gaming X plus Plec.

I'll get you the specs later.

Just played Max Payne 3, for a game that came out 5 years a go on Ultra I'm not reaching the 144FPS.. is that concerning?

Getting between 90-130fps so shouldn't moan but just seeing as it came out in 2012 expected the full 144. Yeah that would be great.

I don't know if I've put it in Gaming Mode, I haven't touched anything, do you suggest I do?

Laptop specs.

That's fine Plec. Thanks for looking. Will have to just look around and find something to compare it against.

I have updated BIOS to F7 and tried 3200 but it still does a boot loop :(

Surprised - but it can happen unfortunately.

I've done other builds similar to yours - almost the exact same spec - one hit 3200MHz with the new F7 Official and the other hit it with the F6. But no two sticks/sets are the same so it's always a bit of lottery especially with early formats.

We could play with the timings, tweak voltages slightly - but i would be tempted to wait as your system is rock solid and you've been relatively lucky hitting 3000MHz straight out the box (for 2 months) - some people are only now experiencing that.

The speed gains are surprisingly good for only 200MHz - so we will push for it if the next update doesn't help. But stability is always king and i've read too many threads where members are having a torrid time trying to get their system stable for the sake of 200MHz. Which is fine if you know what you're doing but perhaps not so wise if you're not familiar with the process and have a perfectly working system that's stable at an already very respectable speed.

Damn that's a shame. Here's hoping that the next update will get to the magic number then!

Setting up a second monitor today, do I just plug it in to the graphics card and it will sort itself out or do I need to change some settings for it to work?
