New Gaming Rig Advice..

Looks like I'm coming back to some lovely weather as well :D
Yep you're timing was impeccable - it's been lovely the past few days - 24 degrees down here, nuts.

There's a BETA release about - we wont touch this - but it's had encouraging results.

AMD released details of the AGESA 1.0.0.6 update which should be implemented into BIOS mid June - Clicky - which will hopefully see you at 3200MHz.

But i should stress you've been lucky - some members are still struggling at lower speeds.

Oooo lovely stuff. We will have to try get it up to 3200 when we can then! I am very chuffed that it's worked out for me I must say.
You've had a smooth ride to date - and even if you remain stuck at 2933MHz that's still very fast. But i'm hopeful we'll get more MHz with future releases and optimisation.

So Plec, what are we thinking, shall I do a slight overclock or not bother? And shall we try get my RAM up to 3200mhz?
Hey Beady, how's it going?

Your mighty spec still suffering it's way through a glut of Early Access games?

With regards to the overclock - no real point at the moment. We can try once/if we get your memory stable at 3200MHz if you really want to.

The F7 official BIOS should be released in a couple of weeks and I'm hopeful that we'll hit that magic number once it's flashed into your system. I since done a similar build, virtually identical to yours, and his memory hit 3200MHz - so it's looking very positive, especially with the new official release.

High memory speeds really helps Ryzen CPUs perform so my priority is to wait for F7, hopefully get you stable at 3200MHz and then address the clock. I would approach it differently - if it was my own build - but i'll be applying yours 'virtually' so it's easier to take a more methodical approach to save confusion on both sides. Plus, we don't want to introduce potential issues which would be hard to identify if we did both in quick succession and then began to have stability issues. Much better to be sure your 'essentially', clocked memory is 100% stable (and beneficial) before introducing a relatively minor/moderate clock with the stock cooler.

Have you missed me?

Depends - you're not posting from the Seychelles with bikini clad beauties walking by?

Not bad Plec thanks, you?

Haha still having fun with Battlegrounds at the moment yes!

Yeah I did see that F7 was in Beta, we shall definitely be giving that a go once it's released. I may get a new cooler for when we do the clock, can afford to get a decent one so might look in to it soon.

I'm building another PC tomorrow, this time for my cousin, all coming at once it seems!
..
Unfortunately not, back in England now enjoying this lovely rain we seem to be having at the moment. :D

Haha it shouldn't be to bad. Same motherboard as mine and a Ryzen 1500x so I should know what I'm doing! He doesn't have the money to buy a Windows key yet though, am I right in thinking he gets a 30 day free trial if I install it? He will have some money by then.

DPD aren't delivering the motherboard until between 3.30-4.30 unfortunately, will try get a bit done today and finish it tomorrow I think. Got a nasty chest infection at the moment :(

I should be back from my meeting by then - I don't hang around for for the niceties.

Holler if you run into problems.

Got a nasty chest infection at the moment :(
Probably caught it from the plane and its recycled air. :/

Get well soon - and usually helped by broad spectrum antibiotics.

Forget that. Power wasn't seated properly. It's booted in to bios now. Can't remember what we did now? Did we flash it with the F6 BIOS?
Yes, Flash to the F6 BIOS straight away.

USB - FAT 32 Format - BIOS on stick - q-Flash hold <END> key - direct to drive - follow on screen prompts.

EDIT: Would still like full spec - and reused parts if any.

Stupid question in coming. Can I just use the stick that I did it with last time that already has F6 on? I don't need to re format it do I?
