I have the big power connector in, the ATX cable in, the CPU fan in and that's it.

Gets to the same screen

Noticed that my CPU fan spins slightly straight away once start up is initiated then stops for a second then starts spinning again .

It is looping yeah, exactly the same as before, on the 3rd start up it gets to UEFI blue screen

Would reseating the CPU do anything? Saw someone post it in some thread I was reading.

We could try the BIOS recovery with it out of the case - but you would need to connect the power lead from the case.

Right ok same thing is happening. Noticed now that on the first boot the CPU fan starts to spin but stops and doesn't come back on. On loop 2 and 3 it stops for a brief second and starts up again.

Almost 4 years.. hasn't been moved once since it was installed back in 2013.

I suppose I could buy some but if it ends up not working it's a bit of a waste isn't it.

Yes and no - you would need some for your new build if you ran into issues. You can use nail polish remover - if it has a high alcohol content for testing purposes.

As confident as i can be without trying a different PSU or CPU. If it was my rig and the MB was under warranty - i would be packing it up for return about now.

The box is long gone unfortunately and without that there is no hope of warranty, damn it.

Shall I remove it now and take pictures to show you how it looks or not bother until I buy some paste and alcohol?
