** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

I've come to the same conclusion, I can find the arm but struggling to find the heavy duty bracket, only one I did find was in Italy and shipping cost more than the bracket

Ergotron HX arrived yesterday so I took the plunge to install and fit. A bear of a job with a 49". The instruction's state twist right to tighten the thing and it flops all over the shop. Anyway having burst a vessel to get it installed, the ballache is worth it; It is expensive! I had initial buyers remorse but really pleased with the desk space recovered.

My desk is not that deep (Kitchen Worktop 25 inch/63.5 cm depth) using the standard tripod stand encroached the useable space of the desk. Additional height is very welcome and looks much neater.

I really want to be able to bring my G9 closer to me too but the stand gets in the way. It's a solid stand but the legs could be shorter without compromising the stability. My desk is 60cm deep and the stand is fine until I go sim racing and I want the screen as close to me as possible.

The Ergotron HX has a mounting bracket that's reinforced for the G9, is that what you're using? I think it's something you have to buy on top of the stand. It's an expensive venture altogether but I guess it's worth every penny.

No additional purchase required. The monitor came with a metal bracket (round circle or disc for wall or mount fitting). The Ergo comes with thumb screws or traditional screws. Remove the monitor stand, but use the screws to fix the supplied mounting disc to the back of the monitor instead of the stand.

You then attach the Ergo stand to the disc. Image from the Ergo site shows the disc and the thumb screws with the mount attached. The HX can bring the screen closer.

There are reports that without the extra bracket from Ergotron the G9 is too heavy for the HX, some people have got on fine without it.

I have no personal experience but I am looking to get the HX and the G9 bracket. Whilst an extra £40 odd is not to be sniffed at, when your paying £200 for a mount and north of £1000 for a monitor it isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, that's what I've seen, without the stronger spring in the upgraded "bracket" or whatever you want to call it, the G9 will tilt over due to it's aggressive curve which moves a lot of it weight forwards. Still, if it works for @Ninco! I'm happy! Maybe they started shipping these monitor arms with the upgraded spring? That's also possible.

So following on from my G7 that went faulty (black horizontal lines and then just backlight with no display) after back and forth with the reseller they have finally decided to refund me, they couldn't replace as they have none in stock. So the question remains do I get another G7 or look at something else. I really liked the G7 when it was working but with the amount of problems I see online about this model I wonder if its better to look at a different monitor....

Not noticed any scan line issues so maybe. Picture looks perfect to me.

Any chance you (or anyone else with 1010.3) can view the known problem websites and confirm whether this is fixed, please?

i.e https://rog.asus.com/wallpapers/

Keep it full screen, and make sure any browser zoom is removed. If it's not fixed you'll know about it - the screen will go dark, scanlines will appear and you'll probably get a buzzing noise coming from the unit.

Looking at that website I get scan lines and a weird electrical interference in the dark areas. Upping the black compensation to 17 gets rid of the scanlines but the interference is better but still there. In normal use though I haven't noticed anything.

Hi there!
I am looking for a gaming monitor and i dont know what to choose between these 2:

1. ODYSSEY LC32G75TQSUXEN 32" 2560X1440 VA 240HZ 1MS FREESYNC/G-SYNC COMPATIBLE CURVED GAMING M
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...ync-compatible-curved-gaming-m-mo-246-sa.html

2. iiYAMA G-MASTER GB3466WQSU-B1 34" 3440X1440 VA 144HZ 1MS FREESYNC PREMIUM CURVED ULTRA WIDE GAMING M
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/iiya...ium-curved-ultra-wide-gaming-m-mo-13k-iy.html

Anyone had any chance to compare them in reality, in games? I am worried about the curvature of the Odyssay, never had the chance to see in real life how it feels...
Cheers!

How thick is your desk please? My concern with the HX and weight of g9 is making me wonder if I should put extra wood between desk and base of clamp!

1.5" inches (kitchen worktop). My monitor is the CRG9 (apologies for any confusion, its the less curved version). The Ergotron HX holds it well. I re-read and saw what others mentioned about the G9 and the curve causes the HX clamp to droop for some users.

I initially purchased the Ergotron MX and the arm supported the weight absolutely fine even at the highest setting, it was the bracket which fits to the back of the screen which failed after 2 weeks, the screen drooped. The HX feels with CRG9 so far is fine, but its not the G9.

Samsung are taking forever sending me my replacement monitor. If I bought the monitor, they'd get it to me next day, but sending me a replacement has taken 19 days so far. That's over 7 weeks now since I sent the thing away for repair lol. Not really sure why they can't just send me one like I purchased one considering their repair team has the old one.

Definitely gonna have to phone them tomorrow/Monday and see what's up.

I don't know if this would be the right thread, but I was about to buy a G7 and heard the replacement was just announced, possibly with Mini-LED? Any word on a release date?

So after my thread saying I bought and MSI monitor and then cancelling that.... yeah.... :o

Immediate thoughts on the 32” G7:

Blacks are noticeably better than my IPS (ASUS 360hz thing).

No IPS glow... YES!

Screen size 32” is absolutely perfect for gaming on a desk - filling out my field of vision. I don’t think any size could be better, save perhaps 38” UW which is of a similar height and wider.

The curve is very strange coming from a flat panel but in an FPS game (the only I’ve tried) within 5 mins it was fine and supremely immersive. Web browsing etc is immediately a little jarring but fine. The huge 32” size is more noticeable. It’s so big!!

No noticeable smearing at 240hz and this is playing Alien Isolation... a very dark game. Butter smooth as per my 360hz monitor. Not sure I could perceive a difference. In fact with the bigger size screen the 240hz seems smoother.

No noticeable colour deviations (not having A/B’ed the two).

The only compromise is that it’s still the same PPI as my 1080p 24.5 monitor at ~90ppi. So it’s not ultra sharp and I’m craving for it to be perfect. But, for now, I think this is as good as it gets with a VA panel.

Not an absolute revolution coming from an ultra premium 1080p 360hz IPS but for gaming definitely an improvement - if I had to pick one it would be the G7.

The 4K version of this would be a day one buy.

Got a second 32" G7 today and also came with the 1010.3 firmware it is also a different model.

Original was LC32G75TQSUXEN, new one is LC32G75TQSRXEN.
Have now hit peak wideness
So with later revision they fixed problems? I can't wait for a flat version, it will also come with latest firmware so everything fixed, and flat panel which is huge advantage for me.

Samsung phoned finally telling me there's no stock (even though it's in stock on the website) and now offering me a refund. No clue why they can't just send me one from the website instead of giving me a refund. Honestly, awful support. The monitor is gonna cost me about £62ish more than when I purchased it but they are giving me a £50 voucher so it's about £12 more now.

No clue why they couldn't just offer me a refund a couple weeks ago. The fact that it took them a month to tell me there's no stock is the most frustrating part of it. Contacting the week after week and nobody was able to tell me any valuable information, just left me waiting.

Honestly makes me not even want to buy another G9 just because of how bad this experience was lol. But I do really like the monitor other than the few flaws it has. Not really sure if there's anything better I can purchase for the same amount of money (£1100). The new G9 will probably be closer to £2000 and that's too much for a monitor for me personally. When I initially started looking for an ultrawide I said £500 tops, so I already overspent.

I probably will order another G9 but I'm curious, which model number do you think will be the most recently built? There's LC49G95TSSUXEN and LC49G95TSSRXXU on the Samsung website atm. I guess there's no way of really knowing, but the RXXU model was never on the Samsung website before, so maybe they're more recent builds?

Overall, what a waste of 9 weeks without a monitor, would not recommend lol.
