What current monitor are you using? Are you using multiple monitors wanting to go to a single monitor setup? (a G7 wouldnt be so bad changing your main monitor - you can always move that monitor down the line) Or are you using a large monitor just wanting an upgrade?
How long does it take for you to accrue the amount of money needed? If it's a long time - then maybe a monitor just isn't the best thing to invest in - if it's shorter then maybe it is something to buy now, while other markets - see GPUs/CPUs develop over the next year or two.

For me, I'm buying the G7 with the mind to buy a new GPU later this year. My next steps will probably then be probably a full upgrade of MOBO CPU MEM and GPU.

Ah yeah some more info would probably help...

So currently I have 2x BenQ 24 inch monitors, both 1080p. One is 144hz and the other is 60hz. I use them for a mixture or work and gaming. My current GPU gets decent frame rates all day long at 1080p but I've never tried it at any higher resolutions than that.

As far as work goes when I was going into the office pre-covid I was using 2x 27 inch 4k monitors and found that the larger size really beneficial. As the G9 is effectively 2x 27inch screens in one I figured that it'd be a decent option. I'm worried however that the gaming performance is going to suck to a degree that it'll be almost unusable. If i'm going to need to upgrade my gfx card to something like a 2080ti or even a high end 3xxx then I might have to go for something else as it's gonna take me 10-12 months to gather enough disposable income to spend north of £700 on a gfx card upgrade.

So maybe I could do something like get a G7 (if the 1080 will run that at a decent rate for gaming - ideally better than 60fps) and turn my old monitors into portrait mode to help out for when i'm working as a comprimise? Or perhaps something completely different??
 
Anone heard any updates about the G7 stock yet? Most other retailers have said they're getting another batch on the 15th? tempted to cancel my order and order from them if it's going to be longer.

Hopefully there is an update today but last I heard on here it was unknown when they would be shipped

Sounds good Nik! Will be receive shipping confirmation if we are in that first block today? For the late pre orders, is there any timescale for the next block of units shipping / making it through the entire backlog of pre orders.
 
I jumped the gun and ordered the 32" from another retailer on Friday and received the new monitor on Saturday! Certainly not disappointed!

Colours are amazing, and the monitor is very good quality. The base is huge though and my desk isn't big enough for the monitor really.
 
Long time lurker first time poster.
Got off the phone with OCUK about my G7 32" pre-order.
They couldn't say when they would get stock in but they did say that I'm 37th out of 138 in the queue. I placed my order on the 19th of June if that helps anyone.
