** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

honestly its making me cautious that they are going to keep delaying it over and over..I dont have a lot of money as it is so £1300 was a huge chunk to pay out with absolutely nothing to show for it...

Not to assume to tell anyone else how to spend their hard earned, but I learned over the years the hard way, if it’s a stretch, if it really dents your finances and it’s a luxury item and not an essential purchase, then it’s probably not a wise decision to buy, and more impulsive and reckless.

I ordered the G9 on the 6th of June. I’m trying to work out what number preorder that is but can’t really tell :D

At least it’s all paid for now and it’s just a matter of waiting. I’m sure they’ll send them out as soon as they get them.

So instead you assume I'm impulsive and reckless? am i simply not allowed to have one luxury item in my otherwise low maintenance lifestyle?

I'm accepting that I'm going to be waiting forever for this monitor. If I ordered around the 8th of July I must be like position 130 for the 32". Think how many of these Samsung are trying to churn out for the worldwide market in the middle of a pandemic.....We are going to be waiting months. UK Disti are getting 20-30 units a drop and sending them out to multiple retailers/etailers...It doesn't sound good at all.

I cancelled my pre order and went for Iiyama GB3466WQSU-B1 Curve (1500R) 34”. Seems to be to many delay and to many quality issues for my liking. The cheaper price of teh Iiyama suits me to as it gives me time save for a better graphicsa card and then get a screen i really really want (Lg 38" maybe)

If you read what I wrote, I was clearly speaking more in general, offering advice and my personal opinion.

However, I will also add that someone blabbing about poor finances and then complaining about waiting for their £1300 monitor, non essential purchase, comes across rather silly.

Pricespy is showing that Samsung have the G7 32" in stock today, now, albeit for £769. I've pre-ordered a G9 from OCUK but after creeping on these forums since I have, I've decided to also pre-order 2xG7s from elsewhere who are claiming they can deliver them by Thursday, so if that is the case, that's one G9 freed up for anyone else who can wait an age, unlike me :D

I preordered from them 10 days ago because it said they had stock, they didnt... :)

They were showing out of stock this morning, but yeah, grain of salt should be taken with that :-D I've not ordered from there anyway, I've ordered from somewhere that rhymes with Bova Mech......... Hopefully their stock comes in on Wednesday!

Have you ordered two G7s with the intention of using them side by side?

Not sure how well that will work as they are curved less at the edges than in the centre so instead of one big consistent curve you would have a wave....just thought i would mention.

I have done that, I'm hoping it looks okay, I'll try and get them so that it is a clamshell style, my desk is large enough but hopefully it doesn't look odd...

As you are all aware, Am suffering insanely bad flicker with adaptive sync on. I got in touch with Samsung UK that told me to read the manual. The manual states that flickering is normal.... so in warranty terms, This is perfectly normal in there eyes.

Am pretty mad that that's even allowed, I thought AMD vetted these high end display for them to get premium pro status? Just a mess honestly.

That's absolutely crazy! :(

Do you notice any screen tearing with adaptive sync off? Also what kind of frame rates are you getting? There is a theory that I read (possibly on reddit) from someone that the flickering is liable to occur when the refresh rate is below the 60-240Hz range via a display port connection.

Edit: corrected spelling

I don't see any tearing with adaptive sync off which is what am having to use now otherwise am going to go blind.
My flickering occurs around 150fps or higher, theres no set FPS for it. I have video proof as well posted a few pages back. It's just awful.

Also noticed that nvidia states that the G7 is not supported by gsync in the control panel... there's clearly a driver issue with nvidia and this display as well....
