** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

Hi all, long time lurker and I too received my G9 today.
FB01
Firmware 1001
2cm light bleed top left
Fingerprint marks all over the screen
Can you check whether your serial number has N6 or N7 in it? See my signature for explanation.
And are you actually sure it's FB01 and not FA01?

Apparently there is a new G9 FB01 version circulating in China and America (with redesigned packaging), so wanted to see if FB01 has already arrived for Europe/LC49G95TSSUXEN as well.

I went through 4 CRG9s and never got a perfect one.

Just to summarise, does the G9 STILL have QA issues for:

1. Popping/cracking sounds
2. Flickering
3. Dead Pixels

AND now it also has
4. a Light leak issue

Samsung really needs to get their act together. Their QA honestly has to be the worst out every mainstream display manufacturer.

I've uploaded a video of the flickering/glitching I'm getting, it flickers right at start of video and right at the end.

This is the only issue I've got and it is quite random as to how frequently it happens, but after spending this much money it is unfortunately going to have to go back..

I think that you also have the «fading away of the display at the very bottom» issue...

Can't say I've really noticed that, think it looks ok to me.
I don’t know if it’s the video but the windows bar at the bottom of screen is fading away near the bottom edge

This is what described before from another user

Maybe this should be added to the excel...

Hey all, does anyone have a copy of the KR1006 Firmware? I made an absolutely noobie mistake in updating from 1002 where there weren't any problems to 1007, and that introduced flickering. Thanks~

I have a copy I used on my 27" G7, not sure if it's the same for the G9, probably not. Which do you need?

Nice spot! That's the issue that I have on mine (reported it on the previous page), looks the same as in Pyramus' video. Also dudewheresmybrain reported it on his on page 78 of this thread.

Also found this link on Reddit for a similar glitching issue with the RG9 - comments on it say it was being caused by the Displayport cable, wonder if there's any truth in that. Thinking now I should try a new cable before returning it..

That's an interesting point. I know I'm running a G7, not a G9, but I never considered the DisplayPort cable. I have never used the 'stock' DisplayPort cable that was included with the monitor. I already had a high quality cable to use, which is likely better quality than the 'stock' Samsung cable. Not sure if any other G7 users that have reported issues were using the 'stock' cable, but I've never experienced any of the serious issues they have reported.

Always use all cables that come with a new monitor, to rule out any issues. Later you can swap and use third party cables etc. Just my advice.

I am out, returned my G7 32" today and will not touch another till it is a G8 and ideally with a G-Sync Hardware Module inside it, no clue how this got G-Sync Comp Cert'd (Samsung must have sent a few cherry picked samples).

The problem is - it's a newest product and doesn't have features from oldest products - CFG73 have built-in presets fro games and 3 hardware buttons and feature to save custom picture settings on them. G7 from the other hand have has nothing! This was just cut out from firmware! JOG key left and right have the same functionality - choose the inputs... That's a really disappointing and frustrating...
