Your right far better players have crossed Fergie and ended up out the door which is why i don't really buy into the goodwill gesture of naming him captain. Fergie kept saying that he felt Heinze was happy and it was just his agents pushing for the move and you haven't signed a replacement (unless Silvestre considered good enough) so im not convinced he was expecting him to leave.

I've accepted, I've got another friendly tomorrow, should be interesting to see what happens in this game. Whether or not players need big rests between games.

I just clicked 'accept'. Why what did it say?

Giggs is captain when Neville isn't in the team. If Giggs gets subbed then Scholes takes over, occasionally Ferdinand gets the armband. Heinze has never had the captains armband up until the end of the season. It was out of the blue and I think it was the biggest hint that he would be moving on this summer.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle, as mentioned below your post, he doesn't even deserve that job

I suppose the good thing about us getting Belletti opposed to Alves is that it shows we won't be held to ransom over any deals anymore, if they were really asking @£27m for a RB they don't deserve the money, I doubt he's worth 3 Heinze's for instance.
It does mean we'll have to get another one in the next year or so though.

We must have been watching a different game, Joe Cole played pretty well I thought, especially considering his lack of games recently as he is coming back from Injury at the end of last season. However I agree that Wright-Phillips should be starting every time we play. I can't believe he doesn't start after his perfomances for CHelsea in the last 6-7 games last season and already the way he has played so far this year.

There's 9 pages about Belletti on CFCnet since midday and hardly anything complementary about him, and I must agree it's a strange deal.
To nick a post off there "we've now got 3 RBs, 4 players who can play there and we still need a RB"...

haha. Well IMO we should sell Ferreira. G Johnson, well, I have never seen him really do anything worth while. If your're counting Bhoularouz, he isn't technically a right back is he? Plus he is rubbish. Belleti, well, I don't remember ever seeing him play, but he must be better than what we have now.

You would have still needed a rb had you signed Alves, if only you signed Richards for £18m in January.

Bhoularouz is out on loan

Ferreira, Johnson & Belletti
Diarra, Essien, TBH & Alex
Should've kept Geremi.

The general opinion seems that Alves is far better (and younger of course) than Belletti and he would've been our RB for a few years at least, with one reportedly as good as him just having cover would be ok.
Who knows if we were ever trying to buy Richards, he was just another good player we were linked with
