Newcastle takeover???

Some of the stuff coming out in the Barclays case just makes Staveley look like an absolute chancer.

Dan Roan in trouble PMSL, he Posted screenshots of the court proceedings on Twitter and being discussed now in court. Judge wants the evidence sent to him.

"The UK government supports Saudi Arabia’s continued diversification efforts under its Vision 2030 strategy Saudi Arabia’s investments through its PIF form part of these efforts. The PIF invests in many sectors internationally, with their potential stake in the ownership of Newcastle United FC part of this wider investment.”
That note from the government sounds like a subtle “push this through”. They can't comment, but they support the country's efforts, which in this instance, are buying Newcastle.

STILL no news. It's not looking good for the takeover IMO. If there were any real, substantial grounds to either reject or accept the Takeover we would likely have heard by now. It sounds like they want to accept, no doubt with pressure from Newcastle and perhaps in the background from the Government after the Saudi's called their mates the Tory Party and asked for some light pressure to be placed on the FA. Either that or they're currently engaged in major talks with lawyers who are picking apart the wording of the Directors test to see if it'll stand up in court for those who don't want it to go through and against those who do depending on what decision they come to. That it's been going on this long, despite the whole Coronavirus situation doesn't look good.

My personal opinion, the quieter the better. there is no doubt it has ran into problems, but hopefully because it still hasn’t been rejected they are working through the problems. It’s what 3 months now I really think it would have been rejected outright by now if there was no chance. I’m now down to 50/50 if the deal gets done

Cat well and truly thrown amongst the pigeons if this is accurate:
Yep saw this coming last night when all the leaks started coming out, strange the WTO report is mentioning the NUFC takeover though as the WTO report is a dispute between 2 countries and it’s the PIF who is buying Newcastle and unless the report mentions the PIF don’t see how the PL can tar them with the report, there have been some palms greased to get the NUFC takeover added to the report if it’s in there.

I can’t see how the World Trade Organisation would recommend that the Premier League reject the takeover of NUFC, which is private international trade transaction. It would be against everything they are there to protect.

If anyone has a spare £10 get it on Newcastle to be relegated, the 20/1 odds won’t last long once the takeover is caned, Ashley has already ****** off and isn’t interested and the Saudis will take it to court but will have no influence over the club until the outcome, so NUFC will be in limbo for months with nobody in charge able/willing to make decisions.

This isn't over yet. I can see why you would rather scrap any hopes of it going through as a fan, as if that happens it's a bit easier to take on the chin when you've already accepted it.

And no one willing to spend any money. Ashley certainly won’t be refunding any season tickets that’s for sure!

looking at the table they realistically only need a couple of wins, six points would see them safe. Surely they can manage that?

I’m telling you now, we will implode. This will end up in court which totally ***** us as the parasite won’t spend anything or make any decisions as “it’s not his club” and the new owners can’t make any decisions on anything in the club because they haven’t been given clearance.
I know it’s not the PLs problem but they have royalty ****** us if they do turn it down, as they have no idea how much of a ***** and petty Ashley can be and he will really see his arse over this.

Matt Slater of the Athletic has also said that he doesn't believe the WTO report will directly mention Newcastle. He does say that it's very damning of the Saudi's though.

The best part of all this is reading all the replies from Newcastle fans on twitter. They're all either experts on the WTO, piracy law or just blaming the whole thing on journalists :D

I'm embarrassed by the majority of Newcastle fans who post on twitter
