Cool, cheers. Hopefully they've still got one in stock! They had 4 on Monday (including this one).
Could someone save me from reading through the 165 pages of this thread and recommend a screen protector and case please?

bored of battery posts guys. You need to charge it daily, just like with every other smart phone.
can't wait for the next OTA![]()
Been into 2 CPWs today, no red N5's to be seen![]()
Some rookie questions,
I'm thinking of unlocking the bootloader on my new Nexus 5, can someone explain the difference, if any, between unlocking the bootloader and rooting the device?
If I did do this, and the phone needed reset, does apps like Textra and all my downloaded apps backup and reinstall?
And regarding future android updates, are these delivered OTA to the phone? Or would each time there is an update I would need to go and flash the phone?
Only reason at the moment I'm wanting to flash is that I've downloaded 'Dashclock Widget' which I'm enjoying, but each time I unlock the phone it starts minimised and I need to drag it down to expand it, and I hear there is an app I can download once my phone is rooted so this widget is automatically expanded
EDIT: And would I use this hammerhead application by Chainfire?
thats a good thing... you really dont want a red one![]()
Or just call them up first and reserve it.
A locked bootloader stops a device or at least makes it very hard to modify a device, think of it like a PC with a bios that will only load a un-modified version of Windows.. Unlocking removes that restriction and allows a device to rooted and custom recoveries to be installed. The apps should re-install after a reset but any data in the apps will be wiped the exception being some games that use the cloud, use SMS Backup and restore to make a backup of your SMS.
Unlocking and rooting will not block official updates but customs ROM's and recoveries will.
Use WUG's Nexus Toolkit to unlock/root.
