*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Hmm. That would be put in my "cool, but pointless" pile. There are very few situations where I would want to unlock my phone by talking to it.

Not just there for unlocking - useful for proper hands free in car use.

Using the map while navigating - just activate and fire off a text or make a call without touching the phone!

Can't you already do that with Google Voice commands? It sounds like all this adds is the ability to wake the phone up with a voice command without needing to have the CPU running in the background. Once its awake and unlocked, which a phone in a dock in a car will probably be, then it uses the CPU to use voice commands just like it does now.

You can open apps, navigate, send texts and make calls using "OK Google".

Yeah charge when you need to. I never let mine run flat, but no idea if that makes any diffidence.

i think it's bad for them.

my wifes (before it was stolen) when drained completely flat had trouble charging back up again and even switching on. she had a completely stock nexus 5 too.

i imagine mine with it's under volts, etc would be worse.

Shouldn't make any difference at all. Completely discharging a lithium ion battery can be bad for them, but all batteries used in these sort of devices have systems in place to stop that happening.

From the user's point of view, there's nothing you can do in normal use that should harm the battery. The only things that affect them really are heat and charge cycles, both of which are unavoidable through usage.

So in short, just charge in when you need/want to, and forget about any of the battery superstitions. :)

Letme know your thoughts on them! Yea, the neo hybrid does look good aesthetically, but also have concerns with how the buttons are handled.

My Spigen slim ultra thin has landed today and I'm well impressed so far! Lifts the screen and camera lens up ever so slightly while retaining the look of the N5!

it was never there :) hangouts replaced sms.. your purity rom had that as an addition and that's it.

I had the Spigen Ultra thin case and it has scratched the corners of my phone!

It looks and feels great when it's on the phone, but why bother with a case if it strips off the rubberised coating on the corners?

Just got one of these today after my iPhone 5 got stolen on the weekend.

Phone hardware seems to be quite good, Android is taking some getting used to

Anyone got any suggestions for some good apps/widgets etc.??
