*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Well, my Nexus 5 didn't like it's first day of nice weather, spent the day in Essex due to work and it was apparently 18 degrees, screen stopped working for an hour and when it came back on auto rotate and the sensor that turns off the display when you put the phone to your head stopped working.

I'm having really good luck with these Nexus 5s.

A weak signal also drains battery quicker, will be interesting to see how my n5 battery life is now, as battery life was pretty damn good even with a weak signal.

Thanks mike :)

IMO the 5s camera is over rated, it is nice but nowhere as good as what people/reviewers make it out to be and iirc it is pretty poor at capturing photos of movement/action scenes?

The thing I like the most about the n5 camera is that it is good in every area, with most mobile cameras, they will excel in one area but suck in another area or more, be it; low resolution, poor exposure, crap video recording, poor with movement scenes i.e. pets & kids or for the majority of mobiles, absolute **** in low light conditions.

I agree, the 5s is pretty consistent and everyone reviewer under the sun make it seems like it a DSLR, it sucks pretty bad in the dark, a lot of cameras are better then it at sunlight.

Typically compare my photos with my best mates 5s and he generally likes mine, the Nexus 5 does really well now. At release things where pretty dire thou.

I find photos taken on the 5s to be a disappointment to be honest. I realise it isn't a SLR, but the nexus 5 was a damn sight better at capturing sunsets etc than the 5s!

Just need to sell the 5s, tempted to pop it in the mobiles FS section and see if it goes.

dude it's 64gb double ended usb drive for £21 posted.... a steallllll!

I have one and it works well, i don't walk around with it on my phone but store it full of movies for use on my Nexus 5, 7, 10 when i am away from home

i just thought i would share the love as the price is stonking if if you just used as a pc usb drive

as much as i would like more space having that plugged into your phone would look stupid IMO, may get one for the tablet to use for movies though.

and for whoever said it was good for backing up photos, have you not heard of dropbox or google drive? or the other 100+ similar services?

I didn't mean for it to say in there 24/7 at the risk of breaking it off in the port, that would be silly

And yes I have dropbox it was more the point of local large storage if no net was available ;)

I think for the size the price is very good

it's all about USB 3.0, it would take 5-6 months to transfer data onto a 64GB USB 2.0 drive

are you saying you don't think that's a cracking deal? for me i have 48 films on, yep it took an age, but i don't plan on swapping over much.

anyway if you travel a lot like i do it is very useful

Re the storage device above it's quite a lot more than the Meenova even with the large discount however it probably has much quicker delivery times, a real which to buy situation as I've only come across the two options for mobile, other than a large Chinese thing I can only find on alibaba for bulk purchase, which is a surprise as there must be a large demand.

would like to see a speed comparison of the 2 tbh like i said transfer speeds of USB 2.0 are painfully slow, USB 3.0 is the future.

Dropped mine today from hip height and screen smashed badly!

First time I've ever smashed a phone screen before so not impressed.
I've seen some DIY replacement guides so going to give it a shot as I don't mind getting my hands dirty - I've done it with projectors, xbox 360s etc in the past.

Anyone else had success with it?? :)

Changing a the entire screen array is easy. If you're separately glass from digitiser as part of a cheap £10 repair then prepare yourself for a whole world of pain.

I've taken repaired all sorts of miniscule devices in the past, but nothing was as frustrating as attempting a budget repair on a phone screen.
