*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I still really like it and 16GB is more than enough for my needs :)

I love the texture of the back and the slight curve round the rear edges. Screen is lovely in my eyes too.

One wee thing, I like proper buttons for home, back, etc which this doesn't have.

I still don't feel the need to get a new phone and I'm usually all over the new releases!

End of the day it's high end device in a lower price bracket, it's bound to have some lower quality issues.

It's still a fantastic bit of equipment, who ever thought 15 years ago when we was rolling about with a Nokia 3310/8210 that today we would have a 1080p screen, quad core CPU and pretty much most things that you can do on a PC, in YOUR HAND.

We are so blessed in this day and age of technology.

Personally I don't get the viewing angle issues. I've never looked at the phone other than straight on. That said when testing I can easily see the screen even when the phone is almost 90 degrees the other way?

It's an indicator that the screen isn't as good as screens which don't have poor viewing angles and I'm happy to say that even though the poor viewing angles didn't affect my enjoyment of the N4, the camera did that on its own.

What the hell, why do you even need ubor viewing angles, I look at my phone dead on, not from some stupid angle.

Just put my phone at every angle possible for argument sake and can still read every word I've wrote, fail to see a negative in this department .

made those videos when I got mine :)

I still own the phone and it's still my main phone but it's simply there and if that bothers you then hey ho..

personally it doesn't effect my day-to-day usage of the phone.

only thing that bothers me -;

speaker BOOOOO - both the placement and loudness/clarity

..

Looooool, agreed. The screen on this is far from the best around.

Some people are so tunnel visioned it's not worth explaining.

Its not tunnel vision.

Loads of minor issues with the phone. But when I compare it to the price. Currently £250 for the 16g you really have nothing to moan about.

The screen is perfect for me and viewing angles do not come into it for me. I only ever USE my phone in my hands and look straight at it.

I like the htcs for screens and dislike the Samsung's. They feel a bit Disney to me and way to over saturated. That is my personal view.

The camera is perfect for me. I know other phones have better cams but at almost double the price.

Its just a non issue.

Now if you moan about the lack of SD slot I am with you all the way.

The camera really isn't bad at all on the Nexus 5.

Only the diagonal viewing angles suck apart from that, it is fantastic screen even when comparing it too my IPS monitors (dell u2311h and LG 29UM65) and nexus 7 2013 tablet, it still looks great. Superb view ability in sunshine too. Would I rather have the AMOLED screen from the gs 4/5, note 3? Yes without a doubt.

Camera is a lot better than what the reviews make out too, didn't think the camera would be better than my one s, but it is superior in every area, my one s captured more detail and looked sharper but it also had more noise. Here are some of my photos:

For me, it isn't just about the quality of photos but also how the camera "shoots", I would get a lot of blurry photos produced from my one s and a heck of a lot more when shooting in low light, with the nexus 5, I have yet to take a blurry photo, focus is faster, taking the photo with HDR+ is slower, takes about 2 seconds but still I haven't had any problems so far, OIS helps massively.

Video recording seems good too.

My only other complaint with the nexus 5 is the speaker, it isn't bad but it isn't great (saying that all phones speakers are **** except the htc one and other phones that have stereo front facing speakers), the position of it annoys me more than anything though.

On a separate note, my battery life is definitely better now since the 4.4.3 update, can easily get 2 days with 2+ hours on screen time.
