*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I am a giant of man so would not mind a larger version, however it is high time we had choices in size with identical spec.

Yeah, would be amazing if we had 5-5.2" device with 1080p and 5.5-5.9" device with 1440p and everything else being the same, expect the battery aswell. Android Silver is also interesting so maybe they have a suite of devices, but some of the carrier BS is a real buzz kill.

You should be alright, Google have got much better in regards to RMA's.

Finally been shipped, a few days late I guess but not too bad. Its just annoying cause I can't charge using the usb port so I'm having to carry a wireless charge with me everywhere I go now, forgot to take it home this weekend and had to end up sort of sticking the usb cable at a weird angle to work.

Is it standard to have really bad sound quality when filming on these, don't do much video, but done a few lately (bit of v8 rumble in a 55 chevy 3100 pick up I've just restored) and it sounds like i'm under water!

Nice one now you won't have to mess about with the USB port!

Does anyone else have light bleed on their N5?

I have a small amount on the lower right hand side and it's bugging me.

My last N5 didn't have this problem. Is it worth returning it back to Clove?

This would explain why we've seen two different pieces of hardware go through AnTuTu claiming to both be Nexus devices. I really hope we get a model other than the rumoured 5.9" - that's too big for me, and I prefer something smaller.

Of course, one of those articles says that whether the whole enthusiast community doesn't want a 5.9" Nexus doesn't matter, but I don't really agree. If enthusiasts don't buy Nexus phones then who will?

My Nexus 5 has a tiny amount from the top, its difficult to see in normal usage. If it is annoying you then you should return it I guess.

You could fake things like AnTuTu very easily so I never believe it.

Also with the Nexus 5 I have noticed a lot of normal people using it, I even had a woman come up to me and ask me how it was. Google as a brand is pretty strong and a lot of people trust them, their services are awesome. I think the only reasons Google doesn't push Nexus phones is companies like HTC might just leave Android.

Yeah, quite a few "normal" people seem to have bought into it, and that's why I think Phone Arena are wrong that Google doesn't care about what customers want. Anyways, if it's 5.9" I'm gonna get the Moto X+1 if they don't launch a smaller Nexus.

I think its really difficult for Google, the Nexus 5 for its price is an amazing phone, the only really thing that will pull people away from it is Samsung branding. I think it would be a hard sell for most OEMs, why would most people get a HTC One M8 if the Nexus 5 is 60% the price, and only real downfall is the battery life, plus better software.

I think if Google really pushed Nexus phones hard other OEMs would drop like flies. Pretty much true for Tablets, no one really makes them expect Samsung and LG.

Also just got my replacement, and its a brand new sealed device. Part of me is thinking to sell it and use my Nexus 4 for 1-2 months while I wait for the next wave of devices to drop.

Yeah had a play with my Nexus 4 today, camera/screen don't cut it and battery life was not good haha. New Nexus 5 it is :D. I can still sell it for a decent amount when the Nexus 6 drops given that it is basically new, hopefully I wont drop it or anything.

Well ive crumbled and bought another nexus 5...

This moto g 4g is just far too slow for my liking.

I know i know i should have waited for the 6 but the moto g is annoying slow compared the instantness of the 5.

I agree 5.9" is too big but I'm going to sit and wait until it's officially announced. Remember the rumours last year that the N5 was going to be released in two battery configurations? 2300 mAh and 3000mAh and it never surfaced.

If there isn't a smaller Nexus option I'll buy the Moto X+1 if it's released with a 32GB capacity in the UK as the device is a near Nexus experience anyway.

Thanks Dude. It's my OCD that annoys me. It's not visible in normal usage so I'll keep the device.

The battery life on the N4 is woeful to say the least. Plus if you look after the N5 then I'm sure you'll get a decent price for it when it's time to sell.

+1 Exactly why I went back to the N5 from the Moto G. I couldn't hack it!
