*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I'm actually kind of disappointed with 5.0 so far, it does seem like it has introduced a lag of sorts to my device, but it's not constant, it's random when it happens. I have wiped cache and factory reset the device as well but it hasn't helped much. I think I might end up going back to a custom Rom if the 5.0.1 doesn't help.

Trying to work out if its 3 doing it or Lollipop. Terrible problems with 4g over past 3 days may have to disable 4g temporarily if a radio flash from 4.4.4 doesn't resolve it.

Seems L doesn't allow tasker to set on leaving my home turn 3g to 4g and disable wifi anymore. Why :S

Llama still works for that.

I sometimes use the spigen ultra hybrid, qi charging works for me. Keep in mind not all qi chargers perform the same. I personally wouldn't use a £4 qi charger, that's too cheap. Some of the cheap and nasties get really hot.

Both the £4 ones I've got gets a little bit warm, but thats all.

Phones always get hot when charging especially when using wireless charging.

Mine should be here tomorrow.

I won't lose too much sleep over £4 if it is crap :p

I've bought 2 more :p

One for the bedside table, one for my desk, one for next to the sofa in the lounge, and one for my desk at work. Basically one for everywhere I put my phone down :D.

I'd be very wary with cheap Chinese chargers.

Had a car charger to USB adapter catch fire when I was driving! Was fine for months, then just burst into flames one day

Been messing around recently to improve my battery life as its been very unstable on Lollipop. Been on Franco Kernel for 2 days now and its ok, got 3 hours SOT yesterday (2-3hours of podcast usage as well), and today seems to be pretty similar so I'm okay with it.

However I've experienced issues with connectivity recently, data is a pain goes for mins at a time, WiFi is not very stable.

Lollipop is lovely but very buggy, hopefully 5.0.1 fixes a lot of these issues.

Yup, my battery life is still shocking.....

Waiting for 5.0.1 before I do a factory reset.

I have noticed that the GPS/location icon seems to be in the notification bar a lot lately though....

Regarding the £4 QI charger, it's not the same as the one available from Amazon for what, £15 was it?

The cable is much longer (about 3 times the length)
The light is a much brighter and piercing round light, whereas the Amazon one is a much more pleasant soft light (rectangular lens too).
It seems to be charging fine. No need for careful placement - just plonk it on - though first impressions are that it is perhaps a little bit more picky than the Amazon one.
It's got a different finish - the main part of the Amazon one is a matt black, whereas this one has sparkly fairy dust in it.

Whether its as fast as the Amazon-bought one with the longer cable, I don't know. The Amazon one is very quick. The phone reckons 25 minutes from 86% until it's full.

I found mine was partly due to the screen brightness. When I first got my N5 I had awful battery. I got Lux and cranked the brightness right down, and all was much better. Upgrading to 5.0 broke Lux so I was back on Androids default auto brightness which is way too high.
5.0 introduces Adaptive Brightness as a stock part of Android so I've whacked that on and dropped it right down. Tests so far are a big improvement.
