*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Moment of silence for our fallen comrade. I'm going to see how 5.0.1 does and how lollipop is on my GF moto X, I might jump ship to the Moto X.

Also pretty much every phone expect the Nexus 5 has 5.0.1, weird.

Came in here hoping for pages of good things about the nexus 5 :( . I have been using nexus 4 for a couple of years, but it was damaged over the weekend and I am being sent a nexus 5 as a replacement.

Without reading through 300 pages, is there anything major I should know / do before getting my apps / data on there?

Battery life is a bit poo compared to more modern devices, but overall the N5 absolutely shines with Lollipop on it. It's a good size, very quick and the screen is nice too. Simple and effective :)

Appreciated!

I don't have 501 on my n6 yet.

Taking me a while to ajust to the n6 amoled. I prefer the panel on the n5

I believe the colours are a bit off, might need some tweaking on your end, the oled panel on the note4 for example is just amazing, pretty easy to recommend it as the best panel out right now. Do let us know how you get on, O2 has those refresh deals which works out around £400 so its not a bad deal, I just hate the size.

Wonder why 5.0.1 hasn't been released yet for the Nexus 5, must be some bug or bugs that only effects the Nexus 5 rather than 4 & 6 for them to hold it back, or the other reason they want all Nexus 5 owners to upgrade to the Nexus 6 hence why they are withholding the update lol.

Also Google have finally confirmed they ending production on the Nexus 5, shame really as it still one of the best 5" smartphones out today.

Let just hope they see sense for the Next Nexus and release a smaller 5.2" with a Snapdragon 810 next year for all of us that don't want a Phablet size phone.

Hope so. The Nexus 5 is large enough. It's not true that the number of the device is the size is it? It cant be. That make the Nexus 7 gigantic!

The Nexus 7 is (2 itterations of) their 7" tablet. The Nexus 9 is their current 9" tablet. The 4, 5 and 6 phones had screens around the size if their numbers.

The next Nexus phone won't be called the Nexus 7 (I wouldn't expect) so the opportunity is there to go for something else and make it smaller. I wouldn't be surprised to see them follow the recent Apple trend and have a couple of devices. The smallest Nexus phone available being the biggest Android phone on the market has isolated it from an enormous chunk of the marketplace.

My N7 has 5.01 now, seems pretty good.
My N5 with the issues has gone back, so hopefully will come back a decent phone!
Running my old Gnex - man it's slow!!! (But at least it works!)

5.0 is really starting to get annoying. I have a new issue ever day, today my screen brightness wouldn't move from the lowest setting till I restarted the phone.
