*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Not had any strange issues with 5.0 like some have, just the dodgy wireless on corporate wireless networks. Camera, Battery, Signal, and even Memory Leak ... everything has been spot on.

Just going to flash this now and will report back.

Does wipe, wipe everything. I can't seem to find my backups.

If you're going to flash the full factory image then you can remove userdata.img from the flashall.bat if you want to retain data, but you're better off just sideloading the OTA file which is pretty much the same process as the name suggest, OTA - no data or stuff lost, quick in place upgrade

Oh, meant to post these! I bought Django's n5 a week or so ago and it was running 4.4.4, so I upgraded to 5.0.

I know benchmarks tend to mean hee haw, but to some, and me, find them somewhat interesting. Also I was bored an studying at the time!

So fully clean and minimal 4.4.4 compared to a nice fresh 5.0. (haven't bothered with 5.0.1)

Sunspider 840.9 864.1
antutu 36460 39168
vellamo 3091 3461
1511 1621
1435 1398
quadrant 8751 12395
geekbench 917 933
2689 2983

Also done a rough battery thing, but that is more than useless. Wee 20min episode of something on device storage from full, 4.4.4 down to 94% and 5.0 down to 96%.

Generally a wee bit faster, excluding sunspider :)

No-one commented on my request for a suggestion on how to disable the sound when a wireless charger starts charging a few pages back. Got me thinking it might just be me (or just a bug) or something.

My charging plate is on the bedside cabinet, and as I'm a shift worker (who's body-clock is all over the place...) I often go to bed way after the missus, who doesn't take too kindly to that sound that goes off when my phone goes on charge in the dead of night.

Even when the phone is set to silent, it still went off, regardless, but it's righted itself somehow...I think it might be due to the Kaloer Clock app I've re-started using again (dunno for sure though...)

Has anyone else with a non-rooted N5 had the same probs? (it seems it's easy enough to rectify when rooted by substituting the relevant .ogg file with a silent one. Not possible when un-rooted though :( )

Have you looked under "app notification" and ensured that everything is off by default when you select "priority" notifications?

Do I dare?

My battery life has been shocking so I guess it can't be any worse.... :/

No difference to signal, I suppose I'll have to start messing about with different radios. I'm going to dig out the old phone to check it isn't just that the Three reception has gone to ****!
