*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Google play has 32gb back in stock but I'm sure its cheaper else where.

On other note 5.0.1 is better but its still has some memory issues, I don't have any of the bugs I had before expect WiFi randomly disconnecting and won't re-connect unless I do it manual. Its not the biggest issue since I have 4G but a tad annoying.

Going to be annoying going forward, nothing else in the android scene matches my needs, if only google had a 2014 Nexus 5. I currently brought a z3 for a family member and I've been using it, Sony's skin in generally is ok, still ugly compared to stock Android. Its smooth enough too, but again not as good as stock Android, battery is great, its a tad too tall thou which is annoying.

Mate the stock on Google Play is erratic as soon as stock comes in it disappears quickly.
Will continue hunting elsewhere but it seems that Expansys is my only option for now.
I agree with you in regards to the android scene at the moment.
I have a Z3 as well and it is superb in the battery life department, fast and fluid but like you said not as fast as stock and Sony's skin is dated and needs to be refreshed.

If only Google did bring out a 2014 Nexus 5 that would've been ideal and I tried the Moto X 2014 but that IMO didnt really give me a great experience as the screen was extremely over saturated and got on my nerves plus the call quality was below pat.

So the search for an Android phone goes on...who would've thought that I'd be scrambling back to the Nexus 5...if only I can find one!!! Now that's the hassle that I'm facing.

Expansys have the white 32gb at 279 if its any good?

Thanks Mate good shout but I'm very dubious buying from them. They haven't got the best reputation going.

Just picked up a black 32GB from the bay including official Nexus wireless charger, official bumper and a screen protector for 270.

A little steep but am pleased...will be back using a N5 again :)

Agreed, was looking at AOSP for the Z3 and it meh, not as good as I thought since a lot of core features are broken. I think if the Z3 had a solid AOSP build then it would be the best all around device.

GF has a Moto X 2014, call quality is top notch on hers, also holds signal way better then my N5 the screen is off thou and it annoys me personally but 99% won't tell the difference and just think its amazing.

Still love my nexus 5. Think I will most likely skip the 6 and look for the 7/2015 version.

Agreed, it really could do with better battery life. Speakers and camera also could do with some fixing but arn't huge issues.

Anyone else having trouble with the latest update? It worked fine for about a week, but now the phone is frustratingly slow to the point where I have to restart it a couple of times a day.

I've not installed any new apps or anything, so can't understand what is causing it.

Love my Nexus 5, it's all I really need for the next few years especially with the constant stream of official and unofficial updates it will receive.

The lollipop update for me is a bit hit and miss however. I do enjoy how fluid it is compared to KitKat but the battery life hasn't improved for me considering Lollipop is touted for such improvements in the OS with the new run-time.

I miss the xposed modules but not as much as I thought I would.

Memory leaks so the phone start running out of memory to the point where I guess it needs to page a lot to the SD card which are really slow, been having them for awhile, I need to restart ever few days or the phone is just painful to use. Was hoping 5.0.1 would fix it but maybe 5.0.2 :(

I don't think that's too bad! I'm going to hold out hope on the play store. Crazy though ... my first nexus 5 I ordered a year ago. Seems wrong to be ordering another at the same price a year on, but I've found nothing that comes close to its out of the box experience for speed etc. :(

Thanks Mate. It's definitely crazy though, I'm in the same boat, I've bought and sold four Nexus 5 phones since it was released and I've bought another. It does seem wrong to order at the same price but you hit the nail on the head when you said that nothing comes close to it for that out of the box experience.

I'll be reverting mine (when I get it) back to 4.4.4 and wait for all the bugs to be ironed out prior to updating to Lollipop.

Are you waiting for stock to appear on the play store or have you sourced the N5 from elsewhere?

Honestly - I'm tempted to just order a s5 from voda given they are so cheap currently and be done with it! You never know when stock will show up again for the n5 and undoubtedly when it does i'll miss it!

I'm going to go out and say it. I have no Idea why people are whinging about Andriod 5.

I upgraded when I had the OTA and its been fast and faultless since.

I just don't get it

Shock as user who has only experienced a perfectly working Android 5 doesn't have any complaints about Android 5 .

I've factory reset my N5 and already noticed a number of things that differ from my OTA upgrad to Lollipop. Some better, some worse, some just different. But it clearly shows that different people will get different experiences of 5 if I've had 2 different ones on the same phone!

Decent move especially since the Google Play stock is prone to selling out very quickly. If you do get a S5 you'll need to disable all the bloat then flash generic European firmware as Voda will have installed firmware specific to their network.

Moving onto Android 5 and the bugs it's all part and parcel of owning a Nexus device. I remember when the Galaxy Nexus was released and the phone was plagued with issues. It took Google a few months to fix all the bugs via software updates and it's the same thing with Lollipop. I'm sure by the time 5.1 is released that Google should have fixed most of the bugs.

Same issues, or different ones?

5.0 wipe didn't do much, 5.0.1 fixed most things, remaining issues are;

Crashes at times when someone calls, so it will flick between desktop/lockscreen/call screen really quickly, like 50ms on each.
Memory leaks
Apps crashing thanks too those memory leaks.

Wiping doesn't change a huge amount thou.
