My battery is no better with 5.1. I'm now firmly in the 'charge it during the day to make it last' camp .

I just drop mine on the wireless charging plate when at work etc.. this way I seem to pull through the day! weekends tho and It's dead before 8! :|

It could be the case that google havent started the OTA update yet, due to the supposed memory leak bug which has been mentioned.

Yes but, the memory leak in 5.0.1 is far worse than the one in 5.1.

They should just start the OTA. 5.0.1 is borderline unusable.

Still no 5.1 OTA update available for my N5. I'll give the sideloading another go tonight but I'm getting frustrated that I'm stuck in the middle.

I made the mistake of letting mine finally install 5.0 now apps crash. The annoying one is that its super sluggish now, like when i close apps and go back to my home screens it sits for a few seconds before it loads the icons, couple of my widgets have random stopped displaying correctly. Also noticed my GPS keeps dropping out, used to be pretty good.

Very tempted to manually install 5.1, i just dont want to lose bits. Does any have a step by step guide i can follow to do this?

Wipe dalvik cache and cache in recovery. If that doesn't work, do a factory reset (obviously backup anything you need first).

How are you going to wipe a cache that doesn't exist?

It's still called dalvik cache in TWRP, even if it is art cache. I'm just trying not to add confusion.

It looks as if the new image just has some minor fixes for SIM handling, so I wouldn't get too excited!

From what I've been reading on the net, I would expect (hope) that the OTA should be complete within the next 2 weeks.

Mine became unusable earlier (was trying to reply to an e-mail regarding a new job). After a couple of reboots its ok for now. Will see if i can work out how to wipe the dalvik cache
