*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

This is the longest I've kept a phone since my N95!

I kept the N95 2 years so approaching that. Surpassed HTC Hero which I kept 18 months.

A good phone. Galaxy S6 does look good though and the price keeps coming down.

The Nexus 5 camera is the main letdown. I've recently gone back over the photos from the last few years because of the Google Photos update, and they really haven't come out that well unless in perfect conditions.

Been happily playing with my replacement N5 the past few days after going many months on a Samsung S3 after simulatenously dropping my previous N5 and dropping a hammer on it (you couldn't make it up)...I still can't get over it being so BRIGHT and FAST and FAST and FAST, lol. Who needs a current-gen flagship...:D

Had a play with a G3 and some other 5.5" phones and they were nice but too big.
Only thing I'm finding strange is the black bezel area at the bottom - had hardware buttons there on the Galaxy. Now the space seems redundant, didn't really give it much thought before.

On the downside, it came with Lollipop already installed and my god that teal colour scheme is horrific. Going to take it on holiday and see how I feel before probably flashing 4.4.4.

Hopefully the rumoured 2015 refresh will address the bezel issue while keeping the same shape and size and a better battery, couldn't think of anything more to want apart from an SD card slot.

well let's hope LG put some sort of slightly scaled down version of the G4 camera in the new nexus 5. happy days if they do

There are still new ones available cheaper guys, I don't think I can link directly here, but type 'nexus 5' into Google Shopping and click the 4th link down in 'Other Matches'.

It's a HK-based site, but with many good reviews, and mine was shipped from a UK warehouse last week, brand new and sealed, arrived in 3 days. £224 for 32GB, few quid less for 16GB.

Fair play mate, can't beat Amazon for that sort of stuff.

Was happy to get the N5 elsewhere just because the warranty is direct with LG. Although when the wifi stopped working on my previous one and I mentioned I'd tried flashing it to the latest firmware to fix, the cockney lad from their call centre tried to fob me off saying I'd voided the warranty... big suprise to me since it's a phone aimed at developers and Google themself publish firmware but hey ho, I know better now... just told them I was mistaken and didn't really flash it, pushed harder and they settled on 'if we find out it's flashed then it'll be a chargable repair' yeah good luck with that lol

Anyone else having an issue with the lock screen on the latest firmware? I slide the little lock upwards ready to enter my password, but sometimes the screen goes black for a few seconds and then just takes me back to the default lockscreen. After a few tries of this it then changes my wallpaper back to the default Nexus one.

Not seen that issue.
My issue of randomly losing WiFi passwords appears gone now though.

My girlfriends N5 has just started doing this after I flashed 5.1.1
I flashed mine at the same time and mine has no problems. Her battery drains very quick too.
Every night this week she has had to put her wifi password back in when she comes home from work.

I put a new battery in both mine and the girlfriends phone on Friday night.
We have both noticed a lot better performance over the weekend.
