*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Hopefully the new nexus will have a 3200mah battery, better signal/GPS, better camera and it will remain 5inch (its the perfect size IMHO.)

That would be ideal. Perfect even.

Rumors are a 5.2" and 5.7".

:(

The disappointment of the Nexus 6 means I'm going tlo be very cautious about this one.

I suppose the flip side is that my current N5 would troop on for another couple of years with a new battery so its no biggie if they do disappoint again.

I love my N5, and really do not feel compelled to move to a screen with a larger screen, but looks as though I may have no choice the way phones are going. The only thing that is good about the bigger phones are that battery life are generally better?

Yeah the fact that the smallest Nexus device was the largest Android device on the market was a worrying concept when the N6 came out.

Hopefully the success of things like the Z3 Compact will bring manufacturers back down from thinking bigger screens are better.

Have to agree. Anything bigger than 5.2" is ridiculous.

I don't think my next phone will be a Nexus though. I get a little ticked off with minor things like no battery percentage indicator, and no counters on mail/sms icons that you get with other vendors launchers. I like cut down pure android but I don't want missing features.

Cataclysm ROM, stock Google AOSP with all the functions which are missing from stock ROM.

Battery % indicator is now present btw. Will be in M, and is available on L without root.

Yeah i'm aware of that. Doesn't look OEM though without the percentage to the side of the battery, as with Samsung and HTC etc.

OK. I prefer Samsung's implementation and I've never been short of space in the notification bar:p

I think I just dislike the fact that I need an app that Dave from XDA forums made in his spare time when it's something the manufacturer should have included from the start.

I used to flash nightly Cyanogenmod ROM's to my GS2 and my Nexus 5, and now I just cba. I want something that works out the box:o As mentioned above, I don't think Nexus is for me any more.

Anyone have a good source for trusted or OEM batteries? After a year and a half of charging it every single night from practically empty mine is well past its best.
Edit: Oops should have read first, thanks Simps.
