*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Never seen them on eBay but thanks for the heads up. Pretty quick and very very good at sorting out issues.

I replaced an iPhone 4 screen which had loads of lines across the screen, contacted them and a spare was sent next day delivery. Very good customer service.

Maybe a prizing tool. Just pop off the rear cover, undo 6 screws, disconnect the battery and prize out. I used a small screwdriver but you have to be careful not to pierce the battery. Takes 5-10 mins from start to finish.
A very simple phone to work on.

Just Google search replace nexus 5 battery. Plenty guides. I may do mine again as its been over a year since I last done it.

Would I need the tools as well?

For £12 I'm just going to do it. Are there any good guides or videos on replacing the battery?

I followed this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlmKLfgUtBQ

Edit* Whilst I was doing my Girlfriends I had to put some tape (3mm thick) on top of the big connector before screwing the cover plate back on as her microphone had stopped working. This fixed that problem.

I've been on 3 networks now, my nexus must be faulty in some way as its constantly losing signal and the conversation quality is crap... This phone has a business warranty which means its a 24 hour swap out, I wonder if they still have nexus 5 in stock or they'll offer something else? ...

I changed my battery last night and all seemed to go well apart from now I can't get onto the mobile network. It just shows 'emergency calls only'.

Any ideas what I've done and how to fix it?

I believe so but will check again. There's one to the left and right of the battery. Any others I should be checking?

If I search for networks manually I see o2, Vodafone and EE but no 3.

My wife is also on 3 and gets a signal on her z3 so its not a network issue. Sim also works fine in an old S2...

Odd. From memory (you may want to check the ifixit guide) there are three. One going across the Bat, which you had to remove to take it out, and two either side of it.

It's possible that the connection is dislodged and needs pushing home. I'd check all of them to be honset.

I had a problem that the vibrator motor was no working after I changed mine - it needed a firmer push of the back cover then I'd given it when putting the phone back together.
