Decent game - great half time show.

How Kupp doesn't win MVP is ridiculous.... Giving it to Rodgers is a joke.

One of the greatest individual seasons ever.
 
I don't think post-season is taken into account though, right? I also hate they've gone to 17 games now as I will always be questioning new records :( Did he smash the old records, or sneak by them in the 17th game?

Not to take anything away from him, not even to say I don't disagree... he had an amazing season. Those numbers are actually pretty silly! :cry: I guess another thing to look at, and tbh I don't know if it's taken this literally, but the name suggests the whole point is the value to his team. How many more games would the Rams have lost without him playing? How many more would GB have lost without Rodgers? Maybe it is a bigger overall impact to GB? We were discussing this last night, the QB is sooooo important to a team.
 
i think it will be an interesting season, likes of the bills/chiefs will be looking to make a statement, bengals will be looking to build on this year

not seeing much quality qb wise for the draft so the qb poor teams will be looking at rodgers/wilson, and still nothing confirmed with watson

cardinals i don't see them doing much better than last year, unless murrary keeps from getting injured and kingsbury turns around his ability to lose a season
 
So, Russell Wilson to the Broncos and Carson Wentz to the Commanders...

I used to think Wentz had potential and some of the passes he did make last year were quite impressive, but on the whole he's dropped in my estimation in the last 12 months, so as a Commanders fan, not so keen on that move.
 
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers will make about $150 million in guaranteed money over the first three years of his new deal with the Green Bay Packers, according to a copy of the contract obtained by ESPN. Rodgers, 38, signed the deal Tuesday after announcing last week, amid widespread speculation about his future, that he would return to the Packers.

The reigning two-time league MVP will make just under $41 million in 2022, $59 million in 2023 and $49 million in 2024. Due to the allocation of bonus money in the first year of the deal, the Packers will actually save close to $18 million against their salary cap for 2022.

Ridiculous contract..... He's not worth anything like that. Might be reigning MVP (shouldn't be) but thats a crazy contract for a 38 year old who's shown he's happy to have a strop when things don't go his way....

problem is thats in line with the going rate at the moment, look at prescott, mahomes, allen, wilson for starters, and on regular season performance hes worth it.

the issue with all this big money on the qb, leaves less money for the other important positions that are needed to win a super bowl, wilson was happy to get his contract then whined about the quality of the team around him, can't have it both ways.

still amazed that after what they knew brady did at new england they haven't taken it into consideration.

Brady was a good one in that respect. Although if Rogers is being overpaid, then god knows what Kirk Cousins contract is. At least with Rogers you have one of the best. Unfortunately big QB contracts are the norm and lots of them are being overpaid.

Feels like two more examples of overpaying; Christian Kirk's $20m+/year and that Von Miller deal. I know Von Miller is a great player and does step up in the big games but wow. Expensive. In reality it's a 3-year deal, $53m guaranteed albeit not sure on the cap hit if the Bills release after 3 years.

from what i've seen cousins has signed a one-year, $35 million fully guaranteed extension that puts him under contract through 2023 and reduces his 2022 cap number by almost $14 million.

as its been shown this is still a team game and if you get the qb taking large chunks of the cap the other players ain't going to be happy.

that kirk deal didn't help the packers as adams has seen that, knows hes worth more than that and should one of the best paid around, at his age this is likely to be his last chance at a big contract.

would hope the von miller deal has to be setup so the cap hit isn't too bad on the back end or the bills are in trouble.

I had read that it means Cousins will now be on; '$40 million in 2022 and $55 million by next March'. I think whether it's the original deal or the extension it's arguably bad. The Vikes are committing to Cousins to take a run at the play-offs for the next two seasons rather than reloading on someone else. Either way I'd still take Rodgers in a heartbeat. His deal is a bargain in comparison.

With Von Miller I do get proven Edge Rushers are expensive. Look at Mack and what the Bears had to do 4 years ago to bring him to Chicago. Even if the Chargers have a cheap trade in 2022 it's still a hefty $20m average a season for 3 seasons. I guess Buffalo hope Von Millers numbers stay high and he can help push them over that hump in the play-offs in the near future. But yea very expensive.
 
Based on all the noise, it feels like the Packers were caught between a rock and a hard place with Adams. No matter what they did it looks like the relationship had broken down. Offensive players can drop off in production when they hit their 30's (Nelson springs to mind) that near $30m a season feels too high imho.

Still Raiders get one of the best WRs in the league and GB get picks probably when they least need it, although they could pursue a trade. Do feel like Allen Robinson would have been a good WR replacement for them and at better value - albeit it too late for that option now.

cleveland have managed to get a trade done for watson :eek:

still suprised the packers gave in to adams, they had him tagged so they were still in control of what happened, also seen talk that they offered more than the raiders but he wasn't interested.
