NFL 2021 Season

Jayden Daniels with another good game... throw in another 100 yard rusher and maybe closing in on 200 yards team rushing and even a reasonable defensive performance and there's just that little bit more belief...

Next week is the Browns, which is another winnable game.

Just watched some of the highlights from other games and yea, Daniels is transformative. Playing so well. Early days obviously but wow. One analyst compared him to Lamar in terms of the uplift on other players he's having and I can see why.

Interesting because I remember an inane conversation with a friend (Packers fan so doesn't know better ;p) on why every team should sit their rookies for a season or two, like Love. Jayden Daniels, like Shroud before is the reason you don't. Apart from the fact very few teams have a HoF QB to learn from the reality is that *if* the rookie pays off the QB contract is so advantageous that you can build strength in areas you just can't otherwise. There's a reason teams like the Rams (2018), Bengals, Eagles and 49'ers have all been to recent Superbowls. If you don't have a Mahomes, a super cheap Vet/HoF, or some random outlier the reality is that you probably aren't going to the big game on a $55/60m QB. Or at least you'll be the first team to do so if you manage it. And even if so many of these rookies are a miss there aren't enough decent calibre veterans to go around anyway.

Has the potential to be a very open season, although Chiefs doing very Patriot things in winning whilst playing poorly is not a good sign for everyone else.
Ravens looked really sharp against the Bills. Bucs looked impressive against the Eagles. Vikings look good on both side of the ball.
Be interesting how the season pans out.

Off to Spurs stadium next week for the Jags/Bears. :)

Problem is the Chiefs, like all those other great dynasties, both elevate their game and have sufficient luck when the post season rolls around. I've felt from the very beginning this would be the first team to achieve the fabled '3 peat' in the SB era. Hope I'm wrong as it would be nice to see someone else represent the AFC. Certainly been some surprises this season. Vikes have a long way to go but certainly taken some big scalps in the last three weeks.

Cya next week!

PS. Received the email from Ticketmaster today with the tickets & instructions. It appears everyone in the group needs to have an Android phone with NFC capability for their tickets. The person I'm going with isn't exactly tech savvy so hopefully I can work this one out.

Got my tickets for next weeks game too. Just need to get one onto my wife's phone and the other on mine.

Can't travel until the Sunday however, but having a short stay overnight then back home Monday. It's quicker and vastly cheaper to travel by car than train, even though it's a four hour journey, as there's repair work on the route.

Where you going from and to? How much is parking?

So that's what being in control of a game feels like...

Unfortunately missed the first London game although looked interesting. First Sky game has been crazy. Some clash of the titans stuff this week in the AFC.

I’m traveling down from East Yorkshire, the hotel I have is about £14 for 24hours parking. 30 mins walk to the stadium.

Hmm no idea where, but York, Hull, Doncaster, Selby, Bridlington etc. are normally reasonable for a weekend return. Problem you have is next weekend there are no advance purchase fares on the ECML as there works between DON - GRA. So you'd have to get a ticket from GRA - KGX, starts about £50 return for two adults with a 2 Together Railcard, that costs from £19 -30 for 12 months. or £80-85 without it. That's out on a Sat return on Sun. Sucks that you'll have to drive.

We've been doing our fantasy league since 2003. Never in that time have Washington been 4-1 and my fantasy team been 4-1. I'm not sure what to feel. I've been hurt too many times before...

I feel like this is a slight n00b stance.

Obviously you need to stay grounded, keep expectations in check and there is a long way to go. But for the Commanders you need to book the correct week off in February and prepare for the inevitable celebrations. For Fantasy you clearly need to remind all the other owners that they suck and how you are a much better Fantasy coach than them. 'Your Mom' jokes are absolutely allowed. And start thinking about who to draft off the wire for the championship game. Come on now...

Yeah I'd seen the works on the ECML. It's quicker to drive down (and cheaper overall) for us to get there. Originally it was going to be Saturday to Monday, but real life got in the way so it's a quick overnighter :D

I guess today it will be Washington OR my fantasy team, given that I'm riding high on Lamar and King Henry (oh, and Tucker)

Tbh, I didn't expect us to be able to win this one (Washington), but at least we look like we should be on the same field as them. Mind you, hold on to a couple of our drops and maybe it would be 10-10 right now.

Lots of one sided contests yesterday and some injuries unfortunately :(

Yesterday was the first time I've ever been to Tottenham so was quite the experience.

Great stadium. Very good atmosphere, acoustics and views. Saw shirts for all 32 teams even if it was predominantly Bears fans. Even saw a London Monarchs, Super Bowl 50 and an Arsenal top (which I thought was a bit brave). Lots of Baby Bears. Had an American couple next to us with one youngster. Indeed lots of US and German fans at the game. Only negative was the long queue at Tottenham Hale at the end to get out. I guess there might be better routes but for us was the chosen way. Overall very fun experience and a great advert for the game.

Didn't get many decent pictures but the view we had from high up in 250.

I've been to all the NFL games at Tottenham and I have always walked from and to Seven Sisters tube station. Bit of a longer walk, about 20-30 mins but you can lose a lot of the crowd along the way so most of the time its not too bad. Having said that there was an incident in the tube station when I got there on way back yesterday so normal entrance to tube was shut, but I have now found there is another entrance for Seven sisters about 2 mins away so wasn't too bad.
