*** Nintendo Switch ***

Not sure why Nintendo would release a new console that doesn’t mean offer any serious upgrade to the base model. The lite gave people a console if they didn’t use the tv but a redo of the docked console with a better screen isn’t likely to drive sales which are already strong.

I've just sold my switch in anticipation of the new one being announced, but I've kept the games I own + pro controller. Would it be best to charge the pro controller up to full then leave it until I get to use it again?
Why would you sell it? There is still no official word that a new Switch is coming or that if there is it will even be this year?

It hasn’t even started production yet if the rumored OLED screens are true, so it will be Christmas at the very earliest, more likely February next year.

Hardly used it since November last year, so I can easily wait to see if anything new gets announced.

Already missed out on selling my PS4 in prep for PS5, so might as well maximise my returns here.

I've kept the few games I have + my pro controller.

Anyone have any good tips on how to get Link Battle working again in Pokemon Sword & Shield?

It used to work just fine but now I cant do link battles with my son - we are using the same link code, nintendo online subscriptions in ticket etc. It just continues to search without ever linking up.
Very infuriating. Anyone else experience this?

Question. I have access to my nephews switch , which I’ve bought some cheap games via the store by taking my PayPal details off and on.

Atm there is credit in the account ( which I didn’t add ) , but I want to pay using my PayPal. Even tho I’ve added my PayPal I can’t seem to get an option to use it as it defaults to the available credit.

I don’t want to use it. It’s not mine. Surely I must be able to pay without using the credit?

Decided to take a punt on Cadence of Hyrule. I enjoy Crypt of the Necrodancer and I'm a big Zelda fan so why not? (Ignoring the fact that it's far more expensive than CotN). Another week, another physical game for the collection!

Just started Mario Galaxy but could not get along with the Pro controller, I think it's down to muscle memory from using the wiimote and nunchuck first time round, feels much better using the joy cons which gives you a very similar experience.

That's interesting. I'm a first-time player of Galaxy and I'm getting on fine with using the pointer on the Pro controller. It must be like you said - down to muscle memory.

I'm also liking that the newly re-released 3D World also uses the pointer. It operates in the same way as in Galaxy, but with a slightly different function, in that you can reveal hidden platforms. You can also pull coins towards you using the pointer, and break up blocks with it too. That's including the "?" blocks that you can hit repeatedly until there are no coins left in it. You can also kill or disarm some of the monsters using the pointer too.

How many are getting Monster Hunter Rise? I'm really excited for it, always a day 1 purchase for me is a MH game.

The new changes are really fun in the demo - enjoying the challenge and tweaks made to the combat/quality of life.

I haven't played a Monster Hunter game since the one on PSP, but I have Rise preordered. The demo was fun

Nintendo are starting to drop the ball!

The amount of Shovelware on the eShop is ridiculous. Turning into Steam and the Google Playstore and the store is becoming slow to browse.

WTF Nintendo!?!?!

There hasn’t been a worthwhile release in ages, maybe years. It’s a good job I have Game Pass.

In what scope?

In terms of exclusives? If I think about the past year some of my most played games have been on the Switch (but also available elsewhere).

  • Hades
  • Ori
  • Animal Crossing
All games in the past year that have been really great on Switch!

Yeh I used to play them a lot - Really enjoyed World but got there a little late so missed out on that buzz of new content because I just couldn't keep up in the end. Really excited to be part of a new Monster Hunter

I’ll give you hades, it’s the only game on my wish list. Ori I played for £1 on Xbox, and I have enough chores in my life to give Animal Crossing a hard pass.

What's the cheapest way to get digital games? Looking at £50 on the switch store or maybe £46 from a key site but damn.

Looking to get pokémon sword or shield but damn that pricing.

Only had a quick go on Hades so far but can already tell I'm going to get many hours out of it. Very glad I held out for the Switch version, lends itself to it perfectly
