*** Nintendo Switch ***

Was so hoping for a Pro announcement so I could retire my OG Switch to my daughters room but this is definitely aimed towards the handheld playing section and as I only play docked, think it’s a pass from me.

So once again, all the rumours "Switch Pro is coming this year!!!!!!" And....we get a revision of the current model again.

Repeat of 2019 "Switch Pro is coming this year!!!!!!" and it was the Switch Lite and bigger battery model.

Wired LAN is very much welcome though. So I will preorder.....unless the Pro officially gets announced.

I've also just seen more details and it's got 64GB storage increased from 32GB as well as improved audio for handheld and tabletop modes. .

Memory has always been expandable.

It comes down to whether a .8 inch increased screen, "better" audio when using the handheld device and an ethernet port on the stand and whether it's worth hundreds of pounds.

Omg Finally.

Edit. I was premature. Thought it was upgraded internals that don't dip into 20s fps on botw.

OLED very welcome though Will make the 20fps look nicer.

This isn't massively surprising. I said that I didn't think Nintendo would create a two tier console system on the Switch. Its already really low powered and enabling devs to target a more powerful "pro" model would leave potentially 85m people with sub par performance.

Not even close to being worth the upgrade for me. No doubt they have done sweet FA to fix the joy con issues as well.

I'm aware but having double the inbuilt storage is great. Also I current use a Lite as only play in handheld but the new 7 inch oled is more appealing to me as me eyesight is failing due to diabetes complications. Find a lot of text almost impossible to read on the smaller screen.

I have a feeling the UK price might be around £330-£350.

Does it make it better knowing it’s not actually out for 3 months so we can continue to speculate about the switch pro?

Didn’t the lite and the revised switch release around the same time?

I was excited until I watched the video and saw no 4K announced; so no word on it having more powerful internals.
I mean, it could still have those, but I seriously expect they'd have put that in the video as a key selling point? Shame, the other upgrades are nice, if it'd had improved performance as well I'd have been all over one.

Edit: A few years back they released a patent with a 'boosted' dock, that basically had a better graphics chip and additional processing/RAM in the dock. I wonder if they may reconsider that option to pair with this new upgraded handheld.
Seems they've already upgraded the dock with this version to add wired LAN so perhaps not too out there to believe.

Means they can sell 4K dock at inflated prices to those who care; and keep selling normal Switches to everyone else.

Well it's more than that. Better, bigger screen. Better handheld audio. 64gb storage, ethernet on the dock. Better stand too.

Do you work for Nintendo or are you just a fan boy? There is nothing here for docked users, yeah let's all open the champagne for "ethernet on the dock".

Buying this console is the reason Nintendo can be so ******* lazy. Just milking profits until they slump enough to be forced into action.

Can't wait for another re-release from them (Super Mario Galaxy 2 was conveniently left out of the recent bundle), so I can play it at 9 fps.
