*** Nintendo Switch ***

Looks like another half-assed effort from them. Performance is beyond laughable. I know the Switch is old now but with some of the good ports we’ve seen lately, it’s not good enough.

Nothing to do with the Switch and everything to do with people continuing to buy anything with the name Pokemon attached to it. At this point its the fans fault that the games are all so low effort. It comes under the same umbrella as the likes of FIFA.

Bloody annoying for those of us who refuse to reward lazy developers with our money when they could be putting out quality games but it is what it is. Why would you spend 3x the amount to produce a good game when you can chuck a lazy 3DS asset rebrand out for a tiny amount and see 95% of the sales.

You would think there would an element of professional pride at some point in creating a quality product, especially as technical issues seem to be a recurring theme.

Nintendo aren't perfect and do release some crap but Mario, Zelda etc. usually have a high level of polish, surprised they aren't pushing for more.

Think you are right, it's just about minimum of effort for biggest return, if only people voted with their wallets.

They are purely a business and almost every business only cares about maximising profit and minimising risk. As it stands, they can make these low effort games, take no risks and make huge sums with a small dev team.

Getting a switch for my 7 year old. Is the oled worth it?

Definitely. You gotta introduce them young to the OLED master race. Otherwise they might be tempted by peasant IPS/VA race screens and then they won't get to experience the pure blacks, vibrant colors and infinite contrast

As nice is the oled is my personal opinion is that it's not worth its asking price.

Can anyone tell me how the Nintendo Online works with multiple consoles?

Basically we've already got a Switch and the family online subscription and my youngest now wants his own console so he doesn't have to argue with his older brother about who uses it!

Before I pull the trigger I'm just wanting to make sure that the single online subscription will extend to both consoles simultaneously?

I'm assuming it will and that any games bought on any of the accounts (mine and both kids) will be accessible and playable at the same time?

Thanks...
Don’t think that’s how the family sub works I’m afraid.

yes it does, I have online currently on 4 consoles. The family sub extends to four separate consoles.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I'm aware that obviously physical games need the cartridge in the console but are digitally purchased games available on both? (and if so, I assume they aren't able to be played simultaneously?)

The games sadly don't extend to other consoles so far as I am aware. There are separate user accounts per console and the games are tied to the user account. There is no reason you cant have the same user account for both lads though. I'd have to do some testing to confirm. My online account is on several consoles though but I dont have any non physical games.

Game sharing is a bit confusing on Nintendo but I game share with my daughter.

We can play the same game at the same time, bought from my account. My daughters Switch is setup as my primary console, and my console is secondary.

So on my secondary, only my profile can access the games, and it always needs an Internet connection. If another account on my console tried to load a game I bought, it would prompt to buy from the store.

On the primary console (daughters), she can access any games I've bought and also use her profile to launch the game.

And works the other way so my console is set up as my daughters primary, while hers is set as secondary.

You can only have one primary console at a time. So sharing between two is fine but don't think it works with more than two.

Got the new Zelda coming out on pre order. Any news on Metroid, Mario Kart or Mario 3D platformer? Feels like I have been waiting ages for these.

Next Nintendo console I buy I will wait until the end of the consoles life cycle so I can get all. The must plays in one go I think. The wait between them is just too long.
